Bullying and hate crimes are hardly dealt with, bathrooms are often filled with students vaping. I like the teaching but it is difficult to learn with the constant fear of being bullied and having nothing done about it, and if you stick up for yourself, the school considers it a fight and will completely ruin your chances at getting into programs like SSS and JCECA.

Great teachers who care about their kids
Posted: June 10, 2018
No my son had several large bruises was kicked in face, by someone twice his size. I took pictures, and returned back to the school showing teacher and principal. I was told it would be handled and given a report. Of course NOTHING!

If I could rate a zero I would. That being said I give a 1 concidering his teacher did the best he could with what he was given to work with.
Posted: June 10, 2018
They give children option to do homework. If its not done they arent held accountable nor does it count against them.

My so was in IEP class, in which he was supposed to be able to work his way out of. Which never happened. The IEP teacher is giving very little resources for one person. Taking all the behavior or (problem kids) of all grades and shoving them in one room and forgetting about them. Instead of giving these children the skills they need. Then the answer to everything is long term suspensions. Kids with IEP have the highest drop out rates due to constant suspensions and falling behind. I'm moving just because my child had become much worse then he ever was after attending this school. Although they passed him hes EOG scores said it all and will be holding him back.

My sons self esteem has never been worse. They dont follow IEP plans. I even wrote up my own BIP plan to make their job easier, but it was never done.
Posted: June 10, 2018
No they shove them in one room and are forgotten about until the mess up then answer is always long term suspensions.

I moved to North Carolina not expecting much of a quality education... this school has proved me right! I have hopes for better schools.. just not this one! My daughter has had her lunch bag shuffled through accused of drugs! She wore leggings under a skirt that followed policy and still was sent to the office! This school focuses more on the dress code than education. During "I read," the school discriminates against what books the students are reading, simply if it has a picture in it. I have hope for better schools, I just hope all aren't like this one. School has never been made easy for my daughter, but she rather go to the school where she was bullied at then stay here! If you want your kid to have a safe learning place, I would homeschool them or take them somewhere else. Surprised it's even allowed to be apart of Great Schools!.com, because it's certainly not!

This school is a joke. The 6th grade teachers are straight out of college and are overly agenda happy. The 8th grade teachers don't read the student's IEP's so don't expect them to follow one. The administration argues with parents in front of the students and the principle has a superiority complex so don't forget to call her Doctor. They all expect the students to be organized but most of the teachers can't update their websites after the second week of school so the whole process seems quite hypocritical. Try Riverdell if you can, I hear they have it together.

Archer Lodge Middle isn't even a school from what I hear from my child. She's says word for word, it's more like a colorless jail where they throw assignments your way to keep you busy. The teachers throw you out for dumb things like gum chewing or a little bit of speaking your opinion. Not even in a disrespectful way. I'm mainly talking of the 8th grade teachers. They are giving the children highschool work and too high of expectations. They are young and make mistakes. Stop treating them like adults even if they think they might be! These teachers are arrogant and could care less if the child passes or fails. As long as they have less to grade at night, all is good in the world. Once teacher my child has actually has a saying to almost every question the teacher asks. So say you ask the teacher how they would get the notes he says nmp (not my problem). Well actually since you're the only adult in the room qualified to answer the question correctly and help better the child's education IT IS YOUR PROBLEM!!! Also the principle is non existent, like she's so amazing you have to book an appointment with her. Instead you get to see the very rude assistant principle.

This is the worst school for a child. Teachers could care less if your child passes or fails. NO COMMUNICATION NO RESPECT FOR PARENT OR STUDENT!! They rather call you over something petty than over your childs education. I would NEVER send my child here . My sons eighth grade year has been the worst of his educational experience and I would not send a dog to the place.

The teachers in this school work very hard to make sure my child gets what she needs. My 7th grader is more excited about reading now than she ever has been thanks to her LA teacher. The math program allows my daughter to engage in lessons outside of school with video lessons that even teach me how to do the math that I have not had to think about in quite some time. I took the time to meet with my daughter's teachers, and they are a wonderful group of people. They truly care about the success of each and every one of their students. I know that my daughter is in good hands.

unorganized, rude staff and poor work ethic. It's seems that the teaches could care less if a child is placed in the proper classes or not. Or life the child is getting what they need form their classes. They just don't seem to care much at all. It's not their kids right.
