My son is in the IB Program and loves going to SVHS- he is currently in 10th grade and we havent had issues with teachers or students

I feel like every review under here are from the admin that work at South View. Ill be entering my Junior Year this year and this school has got to be the most horrific place you have ever been to in your whole entire life as a student. The admin DO NOT care about the students safety or ability to learn. All they care about is how they are perceived to the public. Admin treat every student there as if it is an alternative school, you could literally be going about your day and get in trouble for simply breathing too hard. Also they want respect but wont give you respect, they talk to students differently from how they talk to adults as if we are less of a person. It really hurts my feelings when Im trying to explain something and they interrupt me to try and switch up the words that I didnt even speak. When my mom calls to file a complaint, they completely dismiss her. I cant count on my fingers how many times weve been in lockdown because of an artillery weapon being on campus or drugs and yet they still only care about where youre going as you have a hall pass in your hand saying exactly where youre going. 0/10 dont recommend

The school does great job, considering the external pressures that society in general places upon it. The average student at South View sound character and discipline.

Overall the school is great. There are some discipline issues, but the school swiftly and aggressively deals with them.

Southview High School has been given a bad reputation. This school has a genuine concern for the students and offers opportunities that most other schools do not. My son is applying to go to college through a program offered there. Don't let other people's opinion deter you from sending your child to this school.

SVHS inspired to become the hardworking, well educated woman and college student that I am today. I was always encouraged to reach for the moon and strive for the best there is. I was a member of the IB Academy and Band. While i found both programs to be a lot of work, I learned to balance activities very early, which has been my saving grace in college. The programs are tough but they teach students to think outside of the box and become an intellectual rather than just another high school student.

I disagree, I think the new Principal has done a great job. He has gotten the school under control. He is also very sympathetic My family was dealing with a tough family situation and he listened to us and was very compassionate and still personally checks up on my son. I am so happy my son is a tiger with such a caring principal.

If I had the choice to give 0 stars I would. South View High School is number one for criminal activity in all public schools in Cumberland county. I do not suggest you put your child in this school. My son has been going to SVHS for two years (Thankfully this is his senior year), and has been threatened by students who are affiliated in the crip gang. His car has been vandalized multiple times, and he is afraid of going to school. The new principle has no idea what he is doing. The guidance department cannot do their job correctly. Even though the school does have the IB program, I would much rather my son go to a school where he and I do not fear that his safety is in danger.

I graduated in 09 in the honors and AP program. Only in those classes did I feel like was a focus on education and not behavior problem. My brother went there and we had many problems with the school. The teachers ignored his learning problems and the principal even told him to only come for his first period class then leave! After being held back 2 years in a row my brother dropped out(filling out paperwork and everything). A year and a half later South View called us and asked why he never came to school. Unless you're in sport or in the IB(which constantly has problems with cheating that is never addressed) you're just another nameless face.

GREAT school....as a former student, and now parent i can say that Southview is great. Our children love this school and this town. Hope Mills is small but close to Fayetteville. I noticed they added Nearby homes for sale and wanted to say that SteepleChase off of Golfview is a great community. We have lived here for 4 yrs and its super safe, close to Rockfish Elementary, close to Fantasy Lake water park, the Rec center, outdoor walking path,golf course, etc....the schools here are really great..inside Fayetteville, not so much but we can say that Southview, Hope Mills Middle and Rockfish Elementary are super great and super caring schools!!
