Ive never had an issue with my son at school before until this year. His first year of middle school has been ridiculous with these teachers. They have nothing together. Nothing is organized. The bus didnt pick up my son the first two weeks of school until after 7:30 in school starts at 7:30. theres been an issue with the teacher calling my child names. I have called the school board and nothing has been done. She has an open investigation on her already. The principal told me this is a terrible school. They dont care about their students, they are not organized, and my child has not been learning this year at all. I 1000% do not recommend if you love your kids send them to a school that is not this one so they can actually get a good education and be treated fairly. My son has autism and has been treated very poorly at this school by teachers and other students, nothing has been done. The teachers are allowed to call students. Names with an open investigation is still working there blows my mind.

This school is TERRIBLE! I would never send my child here! Teachers go around cussing at students like its okay, and they cry because they are so harsh. Bathrooms are disgusting and destroyed, looks like they haven't remodeled the inside of the school in years. Cockroaches are normal and you see them everywhere you go. School lunch is never cooked, everything is raw, meat is pink, -10/10. DO NOT send your child here or at the high school. I am not finishing my last year of middle school here, it is THAT BAD. Fights are absurd and if you have designer, your not safe, they steal anything and everything. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I am going to do my best to remain as professional as possible while writing this review. Unfortunately, this school has shown little to no genuine interest in helping students unless they feel the student fits their expectations.

Throughout the school year, I went to staff multiple times regarding several serious situations involving my son. At the beginning of the year, I was forced to file a police report after a staff member placed his hands on my child. The principals response was extremely passive and dismissive, offering only to move my son to another class rather than addressing the seriousness of the incident.

As the year progressed, I repeatedly attempted to contact counselors and staff members to communicate concerns and seek support. Despite countless calls, it was nearly impossible to reach anyone willing to help. When I did attempt to speak with office staff, I was met with disrespect and treated as though I was an inconvenience.

My son needed serious support, and many of the issues began while he was in this school. Thankfully, he is in a better place now because I intervened, but I strongly feel that this school failed him when he needed help the most. I almost lost him.

I would not recommend this school to any parent. There are ongoing issues involving illegal drugs and alcohol, and the administration appears to take no real action. The only response I ever received was, Im so sorry, without any meaningful follow-up or accountability.

This school is the worst the teachers dont teach anything. The staff call and complain about everything. They love to play that innocent card. Had me thinking my child was a problem child . Hold time they are cursing at our kids and everything else. If I can help it my kids will not be going to that school next year. So unorganized they beat around the bush when you wanna have a conference with them

Ive had three children attend Westover middle school and the last two years have been by far the worst experience ever the teachers are rude. They feel its OK to curse in the classroom
The principal they have now does not care about these kids and to top it off shes racist
Please tell me why I was issued a no trespassing paper for cursing at the school when I couldnt find my children because they were brought back to the school and not one educator there fell to call the parents and when I went to the school to find out why I was told that I have to make an appointment to speak to the principal, but yet a male of color was yelling and cussing and banging on the doors has no consequences
My children are biracial, but I fear for them being at Westover. They do not treat the children equall.
I was also laughed at over the phone today because my son called of an upset stomach and I have to pick him up. I called the school to ask if I can send an email with my picture ID and add his uncle to the list because his grandmother is sick so she cant get him she told me to come to the school and fill out a paper again, laughed and hung up
This is the ignorance thats teaching ourchildren

This school is THE WORST middle school ever because teachers yell to much, people are not welcoming, there are always fights, we do the same thing everyday, not even the school bus is safe to because its very unstable, within 1 week in this school, 3 fights happened. and don't bring expensive shoes or anything like that because people will on purpose step on your shoes or try to steal them. People always call each other racial slurs.

Teachers don't do a damn thing, don't teach, don't watch over the kids, or anything else a school used to do. Seems closer to an octagon match then a school. Repeatedly up there to deal w things, that never, not once resolved!
Appears to be a racist kinda school in my opinion. I will start calling the police every time e I gotta deal w some kid there for now on. Cuz they sure ain't doing anything but sweeping g issues under rugs
Done w it!!!! I will press charges and file protective orders and make the other kids leave the school for now on. Worst school InThe district, hands down!!!!

I do not like this school because you are not allowed in the classrooms to check on your child to see how they are doing. I do not get feedback on how my child is progressing in her class. I do not know if she is having difficulties or not with learning. The teachers do not interact or communicate with me. I have never had this problem with other schools.

This is not a bad school but it is not a good one either. I would say if this was a bad school my parents would have took in me out because theyve done it before. I am a student here. The teachers usually don't care for our mental health, and don't know how to teach. Some of them are kind, usually the newer ones that haven't been overwhelmed by how bad this place is yet. The fights are petty, and the intolerance level is pretty high. The children are insufferable, stupid, immature, and act like psych wards patients(i should know). They have a horrible principal, who's rude and aggressive to the students. Do NOT send your children here. It's also extremely dirty. Cockroaches are a normality here. Just don't go.

It depends on the teacher some are entirely to strict on the no hoodie policy claiming " we cannot see you or your face " which makes no sense because we have mask and you can barely see our face anyway, make it make sense

My last year here was in 2020 im in the westover highschool now, I understand needing to find education near home but please don't send your children to this school system. I was here all through middle school and now I have both emotional scars and trauma, none of the teachers here seem to actually do their job they let the students do whatever to each other and get away with it. For students with disadvantages such as ADHD or Autism or even one who just don't have access to internet they do absolutely nothing for. They really don't care about you or your children here.

Most of the students are disrespectful and set horrible examples for any newcomers. The few students who show leadership are hardworking and usually put effort and care into their work. They tend to be friendlier, as well.

God, no. Some teachers bat an eye and allow it to go on as long as it isn't disrupting their class. If they do catch it happening, all they usually do is have a talk with the offender and then move on with their life.
Wouldn't surprise me if some students developed anxiety or depression because of this school.

Compared to all of the other schools I've been to, this one has got to be the worst. I'm mostly saying that because of the students. I haven't had a problem with any of the teachers, but the kids. The kids are awful.
I won't blame the school for the students' behavior, however, I will blame them for their low scores and growth amongst students. Most stay at the same level or even dropdown. I'm not sure what's the exact root of the problem but all I know is this school is definitely not good if you want to send your kid to a school that takes pride in its educational values. Oh, yeah, don't send them here if they're suffering from any anxiety or depressive disorders. The number of times I had an anxiety attack was surreal.

Westover middle school: Very upset with this school. My child was assaulted and I was not notified, or any follow up happen that I know of. I sent emails to vice and proicnipal with no follow up. Our kids were made to stand outside in the rain because the doors were locked after 230pm. It is too late for choice applications for next year so I am continuing to be on top of teachers, grades and my childs behavior

I'm in the military and for two years I coached football and baseball at WOM before PCS'ing. During my time there every teacher that I met showed nothing but concern for all of the students, by going above and beyond for preparing those kids for the EOG's. Yes there are some trouble makers at that school just like every school other school in this area. The only negative thing that I wittness at the school during my time there was the lack of support that the parents and community gives to WOM. I plan on coming back to the area and continue to coach there cause I just love the positive atmosphere that WOM has to offer to it's students. Sincerly Coach Carr
