The school does not help students with learning disabilities, some teachers ignore students and cannot teach.

Overall its not a bad school. The teachers my children have had are awesome! My concerns are the lack of remedial help for math and reading for my son who falls behind every year. I also feel like the school pulls the teachers out of the classroom way too much during the school day. The homework could be done differently but its not as huge of a concern as the rest.

Coming from schools on Fort Bragg, it was definitely a change going to C Wayne Collier. I've loved some teachers for my daughter and really disliked others so I think it is kind of hit or miss. I will say the new principal and VP McLamb are outstanding! Things are really changing for this school. My daugher is very advance ( in AIG for 4 years now) and I love that this school has a program to help her excel even further. She was also in Science Olympiad and students from the school placed in several categories this year and the competition (including my daughter!) We are moving and my daughter will miss this school and her friends here. They are changing school hours for next year(fall '13) to start at 8:30 and end at 3:15, I wish they had done that last year! Don't let the rating discourage you from this school. Stay involved, make sure your child's teacher is a good match and bring up any issues to the principle and they will quickly be resolved.

My kids have gone to C Wayne Collier for the last 4 years. This is a terrific neighborhood school with excellent teachers, who really care about the children. The school has undergone some administrative changes since my children began and I believe this has made a huge difference. The Principal, Vice Principal, and teachers are all working to make this one of the leading schools in Cumberland County. I believe some of the lower ratings for this school have to do more with parental involvement with their children's education than anything else. The teachers can only do so much without help inside the home. Great school.

I have a special needs child. They really need to work on ways to communicate and work with the parents with the best interest of the child in mind. I beleive they need teachers who are specially trained to work with these children. They are just as special as all the other children in the school and I feel that they are treated differently and unfairly sometimes.

I am moving to the Collier district in a matter of days, and although my children will finish the year at their current school, they will attend Collier for the 2011-2012 school year (1st and 2nd grades). I have checked the schools report card over and over and can't help but worried about my kids being at Collier. Can someone give me some peace of mind???

I do not like this school, I have a child who attends this school and he has Autism. The principal refused services from outside agencies. It seems she cares more about her getting all the credit for student accomplishment instead of working with the community and what is best for the children.
