This is not a good school. The teacher and principal do not treat students fairly and often show dislike towards them. The environment feels very discriminatory - minority students are punished more harshly for the same offenses while white students are treated differently.

teachers don't engage with students well, strict policies on stupid things, some staff are rude, others are chill and good at communicating, school is dirty due to the amount of students and lack of effort to deal with real problems other than phones.

Our rising junior is enjoying her time at CHHS. She remained virtual for her sophomore year and received a great education while staying involved in clubs. We are actively involved in all our kids education. This school provides a balance of caring teachers and supportive administrative. The transition to high school was difficult due to a bad experience in middle school. CHHS Staff was supportive in listening to my request. They created a positive environment for her! Although the school is large there are opportunities for each student. She is excelling in many areas. Go Pirates!

This school is one of the most racist school in Johnston County. They let caucasian students get away with bullying and making hateful comments to minorities. Administration does nothing to stop it and makes no effort to acknowledge it as a school. DO NOT send your kids here. The education is below average also. Overall just a horrible school.

My son enjoyed his time at this high school, but received a below average education. I refuse to send my gifted daughter there because of the low quality of education and the refusal to improve. When I attempted to positively change the status quo I was met with excuses upon excuses.

My son had less homework than he had in 4rth and 5th grade. He was initially thrown by the work load required at college.

Teachers have a poor understanding of proven teaching strategies. The school lacks basic science equipment including microscopes. In addition, many teachers have a weak understanding of the topics they teach and the state curriculum. Unfortunately, more than 1 of my son's teachers admitted accidentally teaching the wrong curriculum.

My communications with the principal and the superintendant were ignored or dismissed. The staff insists there is no time for science labs. However, Raleigh Charter High School is able to complete labs in 45 minute class periods. I've taught labs in 30 minute periods. I also teach material before assessing it. The Biology teacher assess material before teaching the material and insists this is due to it being an honors class. An honor English teacher only reads books aloud and does not discuss or analyze the books as a class. The children can read. It's an honors class. Surely, reading the books for homework is a better use of time.

Our children have thrived at this school. They have their issues, but not bad ones. A new principal this year will likely lead to great, new success!

The teachers and staff are pathetic, rude, and try to make everything about their authority even if it harms their students. Teachers and staff have no compassion or respect and as a result, students gain/show none in return.

The staff is absolutely PATHETIC. I am typically one who wholeheartedly respects and gets along with adults and I have only had one teacher who I did not get along with before high school, but this school really did it. I’ve always been a straight A student and a good kid and while this school didn’t change THAT, necessarily, it's definitely made me change my outlook on adults and school in a very negative way. The staff forces their authority so much (which, again, I have never had a problem with authority EVER until coming here) even to the disadvantage of their students. The majority of the staff DOES NOT care about your student or their wellbeing. Be cautious, parents. The teachers here care more about the clothes on your children/if they fit the dress code than their problems in school, at home, or anywhere else. I extremely agree with what some others have said here, including this one excerpt that could NOT be more true, “unnecessary disciplinary action against students than actual additional academic support. 100's of students regularly get after school detention due to a flawed system that is rigid and inflexible.” Overall, education is GREAT, teachers are good at teaching yet terrible at everything else, staff is uncaring and awful, and the students are ignorant and unaccepting. However, I wouldn’t stop your kids from going here. I’m sure they’ll find their place somewhere, as terrible as this school is.

The teachers are one of the only things about this school that are not horrid. Academic wise, that is. When it comes to ACADEMICS and education, they’re phenomenal. However, when it comes to discipline and other matters, they lack empathy and any other human traits that make someone a decent person.

This school is great! Instead of starting the day with ‘Ugghhh, I have to go to school again’, it’s ‘Finally, I get to go to school again’. I really like Smart Lunch as it gives you a chance to make up tests, do homework, go to club meetings, or just talk to your friends. I’m proud to be a pirate!

This school has its issues but overall its great the smart lunch thing is fantastic and now works correctly the different principal is awesome.Its no long super strict (still is on some of its policies.Dress code is one of them).Phones are becoming an issue because no one seems to be able to not text or snapchat every three seconds.But i overall love this school.

The teachers that I have dealt with my two children have been wonderful. As for the "student" who left a review saying they weren't allowed to hug their boyfriends/ girlfriends for longer than 3 seconds or kiss them.....get over it! You have plenty of time for " freedom" in your future. I agree with the school. It's not a place for making out. it's for education. No one wants to see that type of behavior from " kids". The policies are helping teach kids good behavior when they aren't learning it from home!!! Corinth is a great school, that's why so many people are moving in this school district!
And smart lunch. Great idea! I read a review from a student complaining that they shouldn't have to do smart lunch & should get their whole hour long lunch. What kids need a whole hour for lunch anyway? My elementary & middle school children don't even get a full hour! That student needs to wake up! The sports / athletics teams here are pretty cool. They are awesome! don't get fooled by those " student " reviews... You know kids don't like school anyway.

I have been at Corinth Holders High for almost a full year now. I have been very displeased with the disciplinary action taken by teachers, Assistant principles and principle. The lunch program "Smart Lunch" is an utter failure. It would be very helpful and convenient to just let kids have the full hour of lunch they should be given. High school is supposed to another step toward more freedoms, yet students are unable to hug their boyfriend/girlfriend for more than 3 seconds, much less kiss them. I can honestly say that I had much more freedom in middle school to do what I wanted than in this overly strict high school that I am sadly apart of. You may think I am saying these bad things just because I don't like being punished. I assure you I have looked at the injustice that is happening at this school from many an angle and have always arrived at the same conclusion. That this school is flawed and injustice in their distribution of freedoms and punishments to the students of Corinth Holders High School.

We moved from out of state last year and had high hopes for this school based upon reviews. Unfortunately in just one year our child has had several teachers and a guidance counselor who were either unhelpful, uncommunicative, apathetic, or burned out to the point of bitterness or simply not showing up. Though she had a couple of teachers who were caring and involved, they were definitely the exception. The beginning of last year was highly disorganized to the point of absurdity in terms of scheduling, and many things we thought would be offered were not. There's a heavy emphasis on team sports, but not much else is offered in terms of social activities or clubs.

My school is awesome! I think that Corinth Holders is by far the best school around. The school offers so many classes, and provide many opportunities for students to advance. There are also lots of activities for involvement, and the Principal and staff are also excellent. By Corinth Holders being the size it is, everyone seems to know that they are there to get an education. If I had more children, Corinth Holders is where I would desire them to attend!

I go here now, and it's an alright school. I honestly wish I went to a better one, but for where I'm located, it's a very good school. They are still building things and we're nearly packed as it is. I'm a junior and I feel like we don't have a lot of student support for things like homecoming or senior trip (both got cancelled because of lack of interest). I don't know if that's just the way teenagers are now, but we do have a lot of facilities for a school in Wendell.

My son is a freshman at Corinth Holders high school and we have been extremely displeased with his first year there. Administrators run the school like North Korea. They are dictatorial and inflexible. The smart lunch concept sounds great in theory, but results in more unnecessary disciplinary action against students than actual additional academic support. 100's of students regularly get after school detention due to a flawed system that is rigid and inflexible. For example, students were required to attend one tutorial for each class at the beginning of each semester, however in the first 3 weeks of this semester there were 8 snow days. Students were not given extra time to make up tutorials despite so much cancelled school. In some cases, it was impossible for students to meet the standard expected of them because of the tutorial schedule and cancelled school. Students were unfairly punished for not being able to achieve the impossible. 100's of students, including honor roll students were given after school detention. Just one of many examples of poor decision making by administrators.

We moved here from overseas and my son is having a difficult time adjusting to this school. He is in his junior year. He is in the minority at this school. The kids are very very snobbish and they are not very welcoming to new students of different ethnicity. He's been at Corinth Holders for 4 months now and he truly HATE it!! There are some good teachers there! My son struggles everyday to get up, get ready and go to this school!

We moved here from another state last year and have been thrilled with our experience!! Corinth Holders' principal, faculty, and staff are the epitome of what it means to be educators. They truly care that they are molding amazing teenagers into productive, thoughtful adults. I am so proud to call myself a pirate, and i know my girls are too.

I am very impressed. The atmosphere of the school is great. This is our first graduating class and I can honestly say I am proud to work at CHHS. I wasn't sure what to expect when I came in, but have been overwhelmed with the caliber of people that I work with on a daily basis. Everyone pulls together and unlike my previous school, parents seem to know how to parent. Proud to be a pirate!
