My daughter goes to kindergarten here and her teacher has always done a great job. We receive daily feedback through a folder that the school sends home this lets us know how my daughters behavior was for that day. Also the level that my kindergartner is reading at is excellent. As one parent pointed out a large portion of the parents are single but this has not affected my daughters education.

~ "....this place is more of a divorced women's club than an institution of learning. The academic standard seems to be minimum at best and the teachers there routinely tease and humiliate married faculty members..."

My daughter is in a special needs PK class. The teacher had some concerns about my daughters well being; instead of speaking with me she takes unnecessary measures. When I confronted her about it; she denied any knowledge of her actions. After the conversation via letter; I went up to the school to have a meeting. The teacher looked uncomfortable being around me, and refused to look at me and barely spook during the meeting. If she didn't have anything to do with the unnecessary actions; Why was she acting this way? Just yesterday my daughter came home with an object stuck between her molars. When I asked the teacher about it she said she knew nothing. I asked the school bus driver and she didn't know anything either. My daughter comes home with a full diaper and they swear they changed her before she left the school. She comes home with figure nail marks and bruises. I have confronted the school about these issues, and the only response I received is that they will investigate the matter, and I never hear anything back. I am concerned about my daughters well being in the school. -Concerned parent

This has to be the WORSE school ever!! All 3 of my kids have been bullied and the teachers nor the principal have a care in the world!! My 11 yr old began to wet the bed and have nightmares from the bullying!! The teachers suck minus mrs. Kellhoffer!! My 2nd grader was badly burned and missed a week of school his teacher never called or sent home make up work!! My a/b honor roll student was sent to tutoring while my straight f student got nothing!!! The principal doesn't speak w me only the assistant principal!! Over 7 attacks on my kids n they began to fight back n still get suspended they request to be moved bc they are being picked on n they are shut down by the teacher!! I am forced to switch schools but can afford the transportation so what am I suppose to do to protect my children?? No one cares but me!! This is sad especially when the teacher n principal admits that a child is a know. Bully why is he or she still allowed to attend and affect my children's safety!! Over the past 2 years at this school has been nothing but heartache anger n frustration built up!! And still no change!! Oh did I mention parents getting on the buses n threatening children??hate this school

WOW...What a difference a Principal makes!! We have a new Principal and VP combo who are phenomenal at what they do and I have to say, the aura and energy at Brentwood Elementary has taken a huge turn for the BETTER...MUCH, MUCH BETTER than what we've had the displeasure of dealing with for the prior 2 years...I don't dread the thought of entering the building anymore...Our Principal and VP are both very approachable and genuinely care about the school, the teachers, the students and encourage parental involvement; the chaos that was in the past, is no longer...I actually enjoy being there whereas last year I wouldn't enter the building unless I needed to...Our teachers seem happy to be educators at this school and it makes the environment for the children more exciting and engaging! My hope now is that the overall academic grades will improve as much as the administration and atmosphere has because that is an area of the school that really hasn't done well over the years...@ least now, I'm confident we have a team in place that will work tirelessly to move the children @ Brentwood in a positive direction...I didn't feel that way about the school as a whole until now!

We love this school! The new principal is great! She really cares about the students and the school. She is working very hard to get the parents more active, this will be the first year for a PTA at Brentwood, so every parent can get out there and be a part of their child's education. She is also working closely with the PTA to get a lot of funds generated so she can help provide things that are more than needed for the staff and for our kids. The vice principal is so friendly and always willing to answer questions. I call the school multiple times a week and always get a friendly voice on the other end of the line, and my questions are always answered. My daughter loves this school and loves her teachers. They have also came up with a much improved discipline plan and it seems to be working wonders so far. Keep up the great work!
