This school is extremely lacking in administration that cares about its students. They do not care about parent concerns. Special Education services are a joke. Teachers can behave however they'd like as they know that the administration will not discipline them. Traffic patterns and dress code for females is the administration's main concern. Do your child and yourself a favor and send them elsewhere. Notice that their Google reviews are set so that you can't read or leave reviews.

This school does not care about students learning, instead they are focused on what girls are wearing. I’ve only met one male student that has been dress coded, and that’s because he was wearing a dress. Almost every girl that has attended this school has been dress coded. And sometimes it’s for the stupidest reason. My friend got dress coded because her tank top strap was 2 fingers wide not 3. Dress code for girls here is really unfair and teachers do everything to find out what’s wrong with your outfit. Enough on dress code, Teachers are really rude, especially to students who have been to the office before, I’ve noticed that if a kid who is of color and is talking, they will most likely get yelled at. And that is most of the school. That’s just something I’ve noticed with some teachers. Not all. The only good thing I can say about ERMS is the music program the orchestra, band, and choir students work really hard at what they do, the directors are really nice and patient, they are some of the best teachers in the school. But overall if your student needs teachers who aren’t always staring at you or giving out referrals like candy then I do NOT recommend this school

Not impressed at all. This school does nothing about bullying, drugs, vaping, or alcohol. There is no support for the children. The staff is rude and unacceptable. My granddaughter has suffered with her grades and other issues. It is sad to see hiw school is handled nowadays.

I'm a former ERMS teacher. The administrators are particularly incompetent, especially the principal, Catherine Rodriguez, and the assistant principal Trenna Gilbert. This school's math and English proficiency levels are much worse than the proficiency levels at all of the other Rio Rancho middle schools. The superintendent is also highly incompetent; yet, and for some odd reason, a Rio Rancho high school was actually named after her -- even though she's still alive, and hasn't made a substantial contribution to society. It's a bizarre situation.

Many of the teachers are incompetent, especially the special ed. teachers. I can go on and on, but I'll stop here. Suffice it to say that I decided to quit my job, as there's not much to look for daily, when teaching.

In my experience, this is not a good school. It is run by administrators that won't handle their teaching staff and fail to keep their students supplied with the necessary materials.
At this school, my child experienced many poor teachers. These teachers lost their temper far too often, concerned more with the behavior of students than their understanding and success in the subject. Yet when these teachers were evaluated, their poor teaching was not addressed. It became clear that this school's priority was not student learning.
In addition, I experienced this school with other problems. Administrators thought it was necessary to spend time and money installing a room with a Foosball Table and furniture, as well as repainted walls, while my daughter couldn't even have paper towels to dry her hands because of "budget cuts." This was an immature decision made, believing a sanitary restroom was less important than a student fun room.
These are just a few of many examples showing that this school is poorly run and needs to put their focus on the most important things- providing a quality education for students. Because, as it is now, this school is failing to stay in control of many problems standing in the way of students' learning. I made sure to get my child out of Eagle Ridge Middle School as soon as possible. It is not the place you want your children getting their education.

They don't support the learning of any students, so it wouldn't matter if they had learning differences.

This school only acknowledges the bullying incidents they want to, and when they don't deal with bullying there are harsh consequences on the students. They continue to allow hostile teachers harass students and give the students no help when they have been hurt.

Administrative leaders don't care about students' education or safety. When incidents are brought to their attention they do nothing, whether that be a teacher failing to address the curriculum, or a student being bullied.

Teachers are not effective because they waste weeks of time not teaching students and students miss much of the learning they need to succeed.

The school develops these character skills but spends far too much time on them. While they are important life skills they take away too much time from education. This school really goes overboard with off-task activities.

I had very poor experience with this school because it provides a terrible educational experience to many students. It is run by administrators that don't care about students' education or their safety. They fail to address incidents where teachers aren't providing the necessary knowledge and when students are being bullied.
I experienced this first hand with my daughter who attended Eagle Ridge Middle school. My daughter had too many teachers who wouldn't teach enough of the curriculum and nothing was done to stop it. She was harassed and bullied by a teacher everyday and when it was brought to the principals they did nothing. She left feeling and unprepared for high school. I assure everyone that this is not the place you want your child to get an education.

There is not enough supervision when school is let out in the afternoon. There are fights and bullying incidents that are not addressed.

The children do not have any discipline, the teachers do not have control and several teachers have cursed in class. Children in 6-8 grade should also not be kissing/making out in front of the school either.

I really don't care for ERMS, my daughter has been having so many problems and the principle keeps telling me I have kids too and I'm a parent too. My daughter has been having problems at this school and I have requested a transfer from the district and they don't seem to care either. My daughter has had a lot of kids that are giving her a hard time and saying mean things to her, she even got into a fight that could have been avoid because the staff had a heads up on the prior to it happening. I had requested for the principle several times and was always diverted to the assistant. Once I contacted the district is the only time the principle got involved. There is a lot of fights, drama, kids saying mean things about each other, bullying the list goes on......I would not recommend this school to any parent with kids going to 6-8 grades. This is my daughters first and only year to got to that school, she will not be returning, I will drive 20 miles for her not to go to this school again. Very disappointed parent!

Everyone, this school is great, some of you guys are over reacting, sure theres fight, but thers fight at every school in New Mexico, the teachers here are great and what should teachers do when the other kids do something that wont hurt anyone, just keep suspending them, you guys are all over reacting, overall it is a great school to go to unless your kid likes to get people mad, I went here 6th grade - 8th grade and not once was I picked on or did I fail a class. I got out with a 3.5 average and I was friends with pretty much every body.

My son has gone to this school since last year, and I was told by a co-worker that her grandson went there a couple years ago and there were constant fights breaking out and there were parents that were trying to get the principal out of there. When my son started going there, I could see why. My son was harrassed my classmates in PE class and he accidently touched another student alittle too hard. The PE teacher saw it was an accident but this student went to another teacher & this teacher made sure my son got in trouble. This teacher DIDN'T see what happened but decided to get involved. There is a reason why teachers tell students to talk to the teacher of the class it happened in. This principal allows harrassment & bullying and should be terminated. It just shows how the worst staff members are getting this jobs who don't deserve it. Then they all wonder why they don't get a lot more money. This principal needs to go.

Eagle Ridge middle school. My child was bullied in class, kicked, backpack zippers were ripped off while in class. The principal stated that the teacher never leaves the class but this was allowed to transpire. They did an investigation but were never able to find the culprits say the least of punishing them. All that was done for my child was moved to a different group but at least 1 culprit is still there. The only other school closer to us has a 30-person wait list to transfer. Before our child went there we were warned that 1 of our child's Elementary Teachers warned us about Eagle Ridge but that was a mistake on our part for not having them go to that other school.

My daughter went to Eagle Ridge for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. The teachers ranged from good to excellent. The orchestra program is top -notch, among the best in the state. The volleyball program is also good. She made great friends here, serious students with high goals. However, the reason I am only giving it two stars is because of the discipline problems. My daughter and her friends said that it was frequently hard to pay attention in class because of all the talking and misbehavior. Occasionally, the entire grade would be punished during lunch because of the actions of a few. There were also several fights. The kids felt like the administration was constantly harassing them about minor dress code violations (like a logo being too big), while turning a blind eye to larger issues, such as the fights and other criminal activity. As a result, we decided to enroll our 6th grader in a charter school instead of sending him to ERMS. I hope ERMS gets the discipline issues sorted out, because there are a lot of great kids and great teachers there who deserve a better environment.

This is okay school. But everyone was transferring their kids to mountain view because we heard that eagle ridge didn't really care about their students and disciplined their kids horribly. And their was way too many fights and the fighters only got lunch detention while some kids got in school suspension (ISS) for talking in class or being out of dress code. This school is just whack. Also my sons English quit while he was in class in the first quarter of the school year.

I loved working at Eagle Ridge! The administrative staff, teachers, and support staff were all very helpful and supportive during my time there! I taught both Inclusion and Self-Contained classes and loved every minute!
