Many school fights, such as a knife fight. Very strict dress code if that bothers people. would not recommend at all!

The school is rundown and has not been kept up the past few years. The front office staff is rude and if they think you don't speak Spanish they talk about you right in front of you. The security officer acts like a gang member and interacts inappropriately with students. The Gifted Teacher/Program is dumbed-down and of poor quality. The Administration is out of touch and so hyperconcerned with things like dress code and ordering donuts for students without misconduct referrals that there isn't much focus on education.

The hygiene of the school is disturbing especially the lockers. The classrooms have trash all over, the hallways sometimes have bugs, the gym is incredibly dusty, and ironically the bathrooms are the cleanest, all they have is a little graffiti. I have been bullied but only 3 people helped and none of them were administrators or teachers even though the bullying was reported. The teachers have tried their best and the best subjects at doing that are language arts and science. I get put down everyday by other student and the teachers don't make it much better. That is 2 and 2.5/4 years of experience at this school. (I don't want to say too much so I don't get tracked down and bothered. Many of schools deal with this so the rating is average.

As a new family to the area, my husband and I were quite worried about our child attending 8th grade and another child starting here next year. My husband and I have been impressed....our child is doing well, they have a MESA program (Math Engineering Science) that is outstanding and the teachers really are dedicated to the children. Kudos to Mr. Bateson, staff, and teachers! With such a diverse group at Taylor PTO has been trying to gain more family support but otherwise have been keeping trying to keep families notified of what is happening. Hope there will be more after school programs next year...school could use a cross country team or outdoor related club with the trails close by.

Taylor is a gem of a school. The teachers are intelligent, caring, and professional. There are a variety of classes offered to accommodate many different types of learners. My children have been successful at Taylor and have gone on to be successful in high school. Thank You Taylor MS!
