This is the best private school in Rio Rancho. Two of my children have attended Gospel Light Baptist Academy and it is the best experience they've had in any school setting. GLBA is dedicated to making sure their students excel academically, socially, and spiritually. The Lenentine's are devoted to their school/church ministry, and I am blessed to have met them. I wouldn't send my kids anywhere else.

They make sure students have a homework sheet signed daily by the parents to make sure the students are doing their homework at home.

The teachers are very involved in the lives of their students and make sure they have the support they need to pass their classes.

They provide a study hall for the students. This way the children are able to get help with their homework and finish it before they get home.

All the teachers are actively engaged. There are parent nights that are arranged to keep the parents informed on the childrens progress and communicate any areas that need extra attention.

The teachers are actively engaged with how the students interact with each other in the classroom and in the playground. There is accountable for the students wrong actions such as a detention. This is a Christian School so the students are taught integrity, compassion and respect through bible lessons. The teachers and staff also practice what the speak.

If students are in disagreement with each other, they sit down with the students to talk it out. The recesses are supervisored.

My personal experience has been amazing. The teachers truly care about the students. The students are happy. You can see it through the high overall GPA of the school. The kids are excited and engaged in learning.

At least for elementary students the homework is all over the place. Could be hardly anything and then suddenly they come home with stacks of homework.

Most teachers do not have a teaching degree or any formal training and have no business teaching kids.

They teach the kids to not ask questions but to follow the authority figures without thought or questions.

They are very authoritative and prefer parents and students to bow to anything they say with no questions.
My son also had a teacher pull his food out of the trash and make him eat it.. not only eating out of the trash but making him stay in from recess alone to do so.
After the fact I gave them several opportunities to correct the situation and apologize to my son and it never happened.

Horrible.. will never put my trust in this school ever again and will spread the word as often as I can to prevent others from having to deal with the same problem issues. Also my son was way behind when he started his new school and had to work extra hard to get caught up to grade level.

This school is excellent, kids are moving ahead of grade level, since it is on a PACE program. On recent standardized testing my daughter in 9th grade scored Post high school level on 3-4 subjects, and my son who is in 7th grade, scored 10th grade level on several subjects. Also the Christian focus and Character building is truly outstanding!

We were starting to have attitude problems with our children entering the teen years. WOW! This school is excellent, they work on character building, kids attitude has improved dramatically. Boys actually wear shirt and tie to chapel on Monday and Wednesday! When you go pick up the kids on these days seems like you are going to a school from the 50's.... Education is on Pace, so they work on their own pace and our kids are moving ahead of their grade level!
