My daughter likes this school! There are some good teachers and of course a few teachers that arent the greatest! I just wish we had more of a parent involvement, I understand they are in middle school and they are starting to learn responsibility but it would also be nice to know what is going on in their classes especially if they are doing well with grades they no longer need parent teacher conferences. Overall its a good school!

My son attends this school and they keep him motivated with a wide range of extracurricular activities to choose from. They give a lot of incentives for students to keep their grades up. I'm very happy with his education his first year there.

Amazing! Michelle Armijo is dedicated to making sure students feel comfortable with their teachers and surroundings. THMS would have to be my favorite school on the west side that I have had my children in.

I have mixed emotions about this school because there are some good, caring teachers/staff members here. However, there are also some very terrible teachers/staff members here that make it very hard to give this school a good review. In order to have a good school you have to get rid of the bad apples. The administration needs to be more vigilant in obtaining details when an incident happens between two students. There is not always a student who needs punishment but the administration is quick to use this as a remedy. Also, the administration needs to give the students more of a voice in situations where there is a dispute/incident or between a teacher and a student. The teachers are human as well and they are not always right in every scenario just because they are the adult.

As a mom you try to do everything you can to help push your kids to succeed.
After transfering from JMMS after being dissatisfied with the administration and teachers we have come to find that there are much too many bad influences going to this school. I have heard that there are too many transfers of kids that do not belong in the school which have changed the overall environment and I can see that. My child is a transfer from a near by school and I am considering moving him back due to the problems and also allowing my duaghter who is coming from sunset to go to JMMS also. Even though I am not jumping from joy it overall was a better envirnment.

We moved back here 3yrs ago, this time we had kids. We looked at tons of schools all over Alb and Rio Rancho. This school had the most disappointing reviews. But the Elementary and High School were perfect. So we decided on this area. We had a total of 5 years between 2 kids at this school, and 2 years left... so painful. The administration is all to blame. The run a prison not an education facility. I have watched issue after issue: bullying, kids and teachers have behavioral issues... parents are told we will investigate... NEVER HAPPENS. Th handle nothing. Principal hides when she sends out her emails that upset parents. The news is called in continuesly. Unfortunately, this effects the classroom. If is was run better the quality of education would be at the top. Kids coming from this school better have good parents who are preparing them for high school!

Tony Hillerman is a nice newer facility, but I have been disappointed with the lack of communication from teachers. Parents are not notified when assignments are not turned in. Teachers say, repeatedly, to use Engrade; however, when I go into Engrade, there are often no reports - only some teachers use the program. I've arranged teacher's meetings, but the essential teachers did not show up. I contacted the Principal, who said she would have one teacher contact me, but the teacher never did. There was no follow up to see if I had gotten a response, or to see if my child's needs had been met.
