Wonderful school! I was a hesitant parent because I am very over protective of my child. Also, because you see so much bad stuff on the news these days. However, I was blown away with the genuine care and thoughtfulness of the staff and teachers here. They really put their heart and soul into this school and love the children as their own. The Montessori education is also mazing for challenging and preparing children for the future. If you are hesitant, don't be. This place is amazing!

NEW
Please, before you make any decisions about this school, hear my story. I'll even leave my email if you want to reach out. I need to express what happened at LEAP so parents get a good view of what happened with us.
We had to pull our son from another school due to bullying and mistreatment. After multiple attempts to get the directors to listen, there was no resolve. Every night was begging not to go to school, and every day at drop off was horrendous. After 3 weeks, we pulled him out with no idea what to do.
Enter Mrs. Oh and her amazing staff. It was a complete 180. She is gentle, kind and means business when she says "our children really are kind to one another." On the first day when I went to pick him up, he came up to me and said "MOM, there's NO BULLIES HERE." He was himself again. He didn't want to leave. He was engaging with students and teachers. The light was back in his eyes. I could see the life in him again. He was my son again. Words cannot express how grateful I am for these wonderful educators.
Mrs Oh acknowledges that they don't have the "newest nicest" things, but I don't care. My son's last daycare had ALL the gadgets. All the fancy ipads and TV's and knick knacks. And he was MISERABLE. He was BULLIED. He was not heard. He was a cog in the machine and I will have to live with that for many years.
I personally like that the ambiance is "homey" and warm. I love that the tools are used, and older, because these are things that are getting lost in today's society. Mrs. Oh and her daughter are doing fantastic work, and her teaching staff are exceptional.
And th KIDS - OH MY GOODNESS!!! They're so kind and inclusive. Virtually every child came up to Cameron on his first day while he was scared and nervous due to his last experience - and they engaged him. They were playful. They were kids :).
If you want to know more, please feel free to reach out to Jennifer at jenhubby1@gmail.com.
I'm really impressed.

No homework really. Very rarely was my kid expected to do homework.

They are not good with children! You dont isolate a toddler for behaving badly. You dont keep a 4 year old from attending the party that HER parents brought snacks for because she wouldnt put away a puzzle.

I wouldnt completely disagree with this one but their motives are questionable.

What a joke. The owner of this school is passive aggressive and clearly puts an act for everyone but it's easy to see through.

Not applicable to me or my experience with this school

My 2 year old was suspended from this school for a week on one occasion for hitting another child. He would be isolated after an incident of him hitting or pushing another child and I dont exactly agree with that.

Negative. The owner lacks in common sense when it comes to dealing with children. She is in it for the money and not for anything else.

I have been involved with the school and known Mrs. OH and Mrs. Griffin for over a year now and have been nothing but impressed! These two ladies, as well as Ms. Eden and the rest of the staff, CLEARLY put their entire hearts and souls into this little school and I consider it a treasure for Rio Rancho! The environments are peaceful and handmade. There are animals everywhere and the children seem to happy, engaged, and respectful to each other, their teachers, and everything. Every interaction that I've seen or heard between adults and children has been beautiful and one that I hope other places would adopt. The children are shown and then "invited" to try new things all the time and there is clearly a culture of kindness and compassion. This is truly an authentic Montessori school that is full with materials (though not overwhelming) and just a peaceful place to be. I especially the sweet dogs! I love that everyone is committed to doing things right- even when it requires more effort. I can't believe the children even sew and thankfully- they teach cursive!!! I absolutely recommend this school and the teachers and I love working with Mrs. OH and Mrs. Griffin. We have every intention upon staying involved with them for years to come!

Leap has been a great place to get my preschooler ready to learn and used to a school setting. Their learning materials, Montessori method and patient and kind teachers make my son love going to school and enjoy learning!

My daughter has been going to this school for almost a year now and both her and I have loved every minute of it. Miss Griffin is one of the sweetest, most passionate people you will ever meet and Mrs. O is wonderfully compassionate. My daughter has been both in the toddler room and primary both in which she has learned so much. She comes home every week having grown leaps and bounds not only educationally, but mentally and practically. I highly recommend this school to anyone and everyone. LEAP will nurture and care for your children as they would their own.

As a parent of 5 children, I have known Sheila and Betty for the better part of 20 years, and since the foundation of the school have had the privilege of witnessing this remarkable place thriving, and going from strength to strength. The staff are wonderful, caring and devoted, and this is as far from 'school' as the usual definition would state. The children lucky enough to attend here, are embraced in a warm, loving and nurturing environment which extols and brings out the best and most positive aspects of each and every child's potential.
Though a Montessori sceptic at first, I have seen, first-hand, proof of children benefitting, growing, developing and blooming beyond all expectations. LEAP astounded me -kids crying because they couldn't attend, because of holidays?
Barbara Loop was the beginning of this amazing and ongoing project, and now the new building on Sara Road is both the further extension, and expansion. Onwards and upwards!

If you are looking for an authentic Montessori school that values your child and their education then LEAP international school will be an amazing fit for your family. This school has been a true vocation of love both from the dedicated staff, to the owners who have poured their hearts into it and it shows in everything they do. The love, care and devotion they have for both Montessori and their communities and families is truly amazing and I feel honored to have been apart of their growth and cant wait to see what the future holds for them.

I cannot say enough about this amazing school! From the incredible "extras" such as language and cultural activities to the dedication of the teachers and staff, LEAP International Montessori is a quality place for children!

My daughter is happy here and transitioned easily from daycare. The staff is attentive and high quality. The teachers engage the students in different work activities and my daughter is learning a lot. If you are looking for quality early childhood education, there is no better place for your child.

My school is my favorite place to be! LEAP in an authentic, AMI Montessori School clearly being run with a lot of love and support from the community! The classrooms truly feel like a home for children and the foreign languages and physical/ cultural activities and clubs just add to the already existing curriculum. We love LEAP and highly recommend it to any other families in the Rio Grande Valley looking for an authentic Montessori experience for their child and a warm community to be a part of. Come in for a tour!
