After having my daughter enrolled at this school for nearly five years, I feel it is important to share our familys experience so that other parents can make an informed decision.

Unfortunately, our experience was largely disappointing. Throughout our time at the school, I often felt that student growth, educational needs, and parent concerns were not consistently prioritized. On multiple occasions, concerns brought to administration did not appear to result in meaningful follow-up or resolution.

In my experience, communication and follow-through from the principal, Mrs. Reyes, were inconsistent. I did not always feel that parent concerns were addressed in a timely or meaningful manner, and I often left interactions feeling that my concerns regarding my daughters educational needs had not been fully heard or acted upon.

I also experienced a lack of transparency and communication from school leadership. Over the years, I observed significant staff turnover, as well as parents and volunteers becoming less involved with the school. As a parent, this raised concerns for me about the overall school environment and leadership.

The school discussed expanding extracurricular activities, sports, and enrichment opportunities during the years my daughter attended; however, many of the programs that were mentioned did not materialize during our time there.

I was also disappointed by the continued requests for classroom supplies from parents while, from my perspective, some available resources did not always seem to be fully utilized for students.

Every familys experience may differ, but based on our experience, I encourage prospective families to thoroughly research the school, ask detailed questions about academic support, extracurricular opportunities, communication practices, and speak with both current and former families before making a decision.

Our family ultimately decided that the school was not the right fit for our childs educational needs.

I'm pretty devastated with my son's experience at this school. We were very excited for my son to start kindergarten at what seemed a very welcoming and inclusive environment. As my son continued to complete kindergarten his self confidence completely dropped and his excitement for learning completely went away. He would often come home from school stating that the teachers were yelling at him most of the day and overall just being very mean when he made mistakes or struggled to complete certain tasks. In addition, my son needed extra support which was promoted by his teacher. After the initial initiation of communication there was no follow up. We had meeting scheduled with the principal to get my son the support he needed and the meeting was cancelled and never rescheduled. This is when I decided I would be taking my son to a different school for the remainder of his education. Unfortunately, this school claims to be a charter school but is extremely unprofessional and understaffed and non communicative and most importantly they foster a very toxic environment that leads to hard punishment from the faculty and as a result a lot of bullying is happening among the children due to the lack of intervention when it comes to conflict amongst the students. Were really sad to have to leave due to the bilingual aspect of the school but it is not worth your child being yelled at and treated like just another number. Highly do not recommend.

I HATE THIS SCHOOL I have been here from 2nd to 7th its horrible they offer no physical education its stupid cups stacking and its so childish and so is the music teacher teachers are disrespectful and rude and give u second grade work in seventh grade!

My child has been at SABE from kindergarten through 5th grade. In our experience SABE isn't just a school; it's a family. The small school creates an environment where each teacher knows my child and he is never lost in the mix, like at larger schools. The dual-language immersion program has given my child a strong foundation in both English and Spanish. We couldn't be happier about out choice!

This is a terrible place. It seems like a repository for misfit kids and horrible teachers. I had two kids here beginning in kindergarten and neither of them learned to read at school. I had to put them in expensive tutoring because they were each 2 years behind in their reading abilities. They also dont speak much Spanish after several years. This school has a bad problem with bullying and there are a lot of unprofessional teachers who dont care to control the problem. I could write much, much more about why you shouldnt enroll your kids here, but I think you get the gist.

SABE is a great school where the staff members really care about their students. The school provides a pleasant, welcoming environment where learning a second language is fun!
