There are several issues with this school starting with there new program that is the SES 2 program! The teacher is awful, hate the child and clearly hate the job doesnt want to talk to any of the parents or listen to their concerns!! The teacher does not like communicating them or in fact anyone at this school like to communicate their students with the thing they are by law allowed to have. I honestly dont understand why people like that get hired! Then there teachers who are from my child told me listen to music or talk to their friends not pay attention during recess duty! It sad they dont care for the safety of the kids. Last, the bus pick at the end of the day is awful not organized at all just child running around, bum into parents on the steps or crowding the step sit on them making it hard to walk to the office!

The biggest issue is they have gotten this new program at the school for kid of disabilities and Ive noticed they put someone in charge of it that seem already burn out and hate their job!
Why does this school when it come to the well being of kids with severe disabilities in rolls people who dont care, like their job or even like the students themselves! We have the right to have a disability teachers who love what they do and love there students too so does the school just not care or see this problem!?

This school can be a A+ school. However, once of the many problems at this school is that don't accommodated people with disabilities. They just now are putting in SCS program but why are they not having other impotent disabilities programs like IGS at this school. Is Belhaven discriminative to students with disabilities?! If they are not then why do they not have an IGS program and don't say it because they don't have enough or any students that register with that disability, New Mexico has many children with this kind of disability. I think it more on the line that the school does not want them and are avoiding registering them. The school also has many kids who have this disabilities are put in a specials ED class's with teacher who does not seem like being there. Then sent to a school that does rather then just have a permit program here. I feel in order for this school to get better then need more disability friendly program and to get a special ED teacher who not tired and burn out. This school could be a good as any of the top rich school we have here in Albuquerque/New Mexico!

Bellehaven Elementary is a great school. They promote a strong sense of community and family. The teachers are welcoming of parents and encouraging of student's success. I'm very pleased withbthe quality of education my daughters have recieved so far.

The environment at this school is toxic. Many of the teachers are inexperienced or worsethey have been teaching forever, but have little interest or patience with the children. Rules are arbitrarily enforced, and many of the staff seems unwilling to make any accommadations for students individual needs. In addition, we witnessed bullying during the school day and in the after school activities that were not addressed by the supervising adults. We want our kids at a school where they are safe and in a supportive learning environment.

I would have to agree with previous comment The school has really gone down hill Hopefully new leadership will improve moral, increase positive expectations, create effective ways to deal with bullying and decrease gossiping amoung the head of school and administration

The school has gone down hill over the last two years (with a change in Principals. Follow through and communication are lacking. Most of the teachers lack experience. The kids run the school and bullying is prevalant. Our children won't be back!!

My son was part of the Twice Exceptional class at this school this past year and it has made all of the difference in the world for him. He has Asperger Syndrome and struggled at his former private school (Hope Christian School). He was mercilessly bullied by the other children at Hope and made to feel he was not intelligent by the teachers - he dreaded going. Only his fourth grade teacher tried to help him. His 5th grade year at Bellehaven was wonderful. He is confident, happy, and his grades have never been better. I am so grateful for the 2x program at this school. Thank you!!
