The new principal is amazing!! She loves the kids and staff alike! Her door is always open. She does get busy but she will always find time for you or her teachers and especially her students. The staff is amazing! The behavior redirector is also tops!! I am thankful my child goes here!! Thank you everyone!!

This was a wonderful school until the new principal started. She has almost zero social interactions with parents, unless your child gets in trouble. I have been to the school multiple times and she's just walks by you and doesn't even make eye contact. She shows zero pride and enthusiasim at school events. It looks like she doesn't even want to be there. How are you supposed to get kids and perents excited about your school, when you don't even look like you want to be there? Almost nothing was done for the teacher's for their teacher's appreciation day. This is especially sad because the best part of Chelwood IS the teacher's. I have never seen an administrator with so little social skills and engagement in her school. She clearly knew the right person or was owed a favor.

Chelwood elementary is a great school. The teacher's and all of the staff are wonderful. They have helped my son so much. They care about their students and their families. Thank you all for everything you do.

The teachers and staff at this school are not very supportive. It's like playing a game of go fish to get documentation and information. No One knows what's going on. They also sent my child home with scrapes and bruises on more than one occasion without a call or note.

My grandson transferred from Matheson Park elementary for his third grade year. His experience with Chelwood and most importantly his third grade teacher was awesome. His teacher was caring and understanding but also had a great old school method that really worked.

I love this school the teachers are very approachable my daughter attend and now my son is attending and the school has been thriving to improve every year and it shows.

I have two kids in Chelwood and now have experience with 5 of the teachers and the principal. They have all been wonderful. Caring for both of my kids, willing to go above and beyond.

Last year my daughter was touched in a personal place by a boy in her class. The counselor was great in calling me right away, but I wish I could say something good about the principal. I requested a meeting between the principal and I to discuss a plan of action. She said she couldn't meet with me for 2 WEEKS!!! The day of the meeting, she was unprepared, and had no idea what my daughter even looked like. Outcome? She didn't have any kind of outline or plan, didn't want to move either my daughter or the other boy to a different classroom, and she didn't even suspend the boy! Her solution was to tell the boy that he was not allowed to talk to my daughter. Other than that, my daughter has always been ahead of most students and now shes not even at her grade level. She is not learning much from her teachers, and hasn't come home with much guidelines for the curriculum. The staff really needs to get it together!
