My kids attended for 3 years. During that time they had some good teachers, a few great teachers. But do know this is a legacy school, generations of families have gone there and if you aren’t one of them you will feel it. Parents were not very friendly and for a Catholic school, some definitely not very christ like. We had a few minor problems while there and I reached out to the principal and never heard back, not one time. There is also very little diversity there, my kids were never mistreated for that reason by other kids, but they definitely noticed they were different than the other kids and that became an issue for their own self esteem. They also really just never fit in with the other kids there. We chose try the switch to public school for the emotional and mental well being of our children of color and are so glad we did. To my surprise, public school has been great for our kids. They are happy and doing great academically, and as a whole our family feels much more welcome than we ever did at annunciation.

After 7 years we are still so happy with our child’s education and growth as a good person. Her knowledge of school subjects as well as her instruction in humanity is worth every cent.

my experience is that the teachers and administration have a shared culture and mission which makes them great at educating my kids in academics, catholicity, and character.

My children have attended Annunciation for over the span of 12 years, and the staff is extremely supportive, and pushes to make sure that the curriculum is Catholic-centered, challenging, and that each of the kids is supported in their academics. One of the best decisions we have ever made as parents was to send our children here. The foundation they received academically and in their faith is invaluable.

We love this school. This fall we will have been attending the school for 7 years. Our kids have grown academically and spiritually. My one child has some learning challenges and the teachers work hard to find what best works for their learning style. The school has an amazing Art program. We love attending the art fair at the end of the year to see all the incredible art all the students at the school have made. We feel blessed to have been able to have our children attend ACS and can’t wait to see how much more the kids will grow attending this amazing school.

The Catholic aspect of this school is sadly missing. There is no discipline, no pride in teaching character and no accountability. It makes me very sad that they can charge the extraordinary tuition that they do and the children still get bullied and fall behind academically.

Annunciation Catholic School has strong administration, teachers and staff that support and guide our students. The curriculum is excellent and collaboration is encouraged in all grades. ACS offers our students an incredible music and art program. Combined with the all the extra curricular activities that are offered ACS really teaches the whole child. Our Catholic faith is abundant in all grades and Msgr. Voorhies always has a great message at the weekly student body Mass. Sending our daughter to Annunciation for the last 9 years has been the best decision we have made. She is academically and socially ready to take on her next adventure....high school at St. Pius X. Thank you to all the members of the ACS staff that have helped guide her.

After living in NM for almost 30 years, and experiencing and interacting with students and families from every Catholic school in the city, Annunciation continues to impress me. The students are genuinely happy, and the breadth and depth of the school's curriculum is top notch. The administration is focused on developing the whole child, and encourages each student to find and excel in whatever they (the students) are truly passionate about. The students that graduate from this school are prepared to take on the world, and our community is better because of it. Highly recommended.

In terms of academics, a little higher standard than the aps school my child used to attend. In terms of discipline, horrible. For a Catholic school, the behavior of a few kids in the school is horrendous. There are a good group of kids & their families that are trying to stick it out, I wish them luck. Unfortunately the administration does not reward the good, but instead tries to counsel to understand & empathize with the destructive behaviors of repeat offenders. Character, reputation & Christ-like behavior are not rewarded here. Grumpy front office staff, apathetic principal & assistant principal who seem above parents concerns. Unorganized planning if any. No one seems to communicate & if they do it's in a rude manner. Witnessed several instances of "gossip" about trouble maker students by school employees, which is unacceptable. Also witnessed admin & teachers on iphones during lectures, etc. Take that to your home if you feel a need to vent or check out the internet. What kind of an example is being set? There are many outstanding teachers at this school; I wonder if they are getting the support they need from parents & their Admin. Disappointed & not returning

My children have had nothing but great experiences at Annunciation. The principal is approachable, the teachers are firm but loving, and the students are kind and welcoming. My children love to go to school and look forward to Monday! We couldn't be happier.

We have pulled our child out of Annunciation after attending K through 3 as the school is in a downward spiral and is no longer tolerable. We have found the discipline to be close to non-existent and the inconsistent, non-goal oriented curriculum to be unacceptable. We know of many parents who are having their children privately tutored just to maintain what they feel is acceptable level of academic achievement, or to get into another school. Bullying is a real problem, and the school administration's solution seems to be to council the bullied to better understand the bully. In addition, the administration does not give clear guidance on how to report bullying, instructing students that they shouldn't be "tattle tales", which sends a conflicting message and just frustrates the children even more.
