Our two daughters have been a part of this wonderful school community for three years where they have benefited from high standards in behavior and academics. Most importantly, they are growing spiritually in a positive and supportive community that encourages them to love Jesus and develop a personal relationship with Him. The sports program is well organized and teaches good sportsmanship and keeps students physically fit. The teachers have inspired my daughters to play school at home!

Safety is definitely not something this school is big on. The staff is rude besides maybe 5 teachers who are actually genuine & care the rest will smile to your face & then talk about you & your family. I would not recommend this school. They continue to raise tuition & lunch priced but nothing changes, they just continue to give free tuition to parents that volunteer to be "teachers"

I have been at the school for nearly 3 years. The staff is absolutely amazing. There is a wonderful community feel with activities for students to interact with others outside of the classroom walls. I've been impressed with the enrichment options (ASL, music, art, computer/coding) that students are able to learn from. There is a strong commitment to learning to read, write, do math, and learn about Jesus.
The campus is extremely safe--safer than any I've seen in Albuquerque.
I would highly recommend looking into this school.

I'm delighted to share my positive experience with this school. Having two kids enrolled here, we appreciate the exceptional care they receive. In just a year, they seamlessly integrated, finding joy in attending school every morning. The warm, family-like atmosphere fosters a great environment for kids to learn and grow. Highly recommended!

The school is very caring and responsive to student and family needs. The academic curriculum is well rounded and many resources are available to help students learn. A genuine love for God is shown through singing songs of praise, teaching how to relate to others well and regular school assemblies of which prayer is an important part as well as an excellent Bible curriculum. The teachers and staff are very dedicated to serving with the love of God.

We absolutely love this school! My sons have made such academic gains, and, of course, the Christ-centered focus has changed all of our lives. We love every single one of the teachers, and we look forward to all the different activities. It is such a fulfilling community. Thanks ACS for helping build a solid foundation for my family!

Albuquerque Christian School is an amazing place! The teachers and staff love what they do and love our children like God loves the church! We truly feel like ACS is our family. Along with the academics and Bible teaching, the community involvement, athletics and other enrichment activities provide a very well rounded education!!! I am proud to say my kids go to school here!

Stay away from this school. The teachers and school board do not want to educate in the 21st century. They are stuck in the early 80’s with their outdated curriculum, ways of doing things they’ve ‘always done’, and everything Church of Christ. This school is bleeding students because of mediocre teachers and an inept school board who likes the status quo. The teachers are very resistant to doing anything new, pushing back on any leadership that tries to improve the school. In regards to the ‘Christian’ aspect of the school, the teachers and students have head knowledge about the bible, but are lacking grace. If you are looking for a well rounded, Christian education for your child, there are other options in Albuquerque.

I feel like my children are being nurtured academically and socially/emotionally. Small classes help teachers to be effective. My daughter spent K-2 in public school and told me this is the first teacher she has who never yells at the students. I was having major concerns with my son's reading progress at APS and within 5 weeks of transferring to ACS's fully phonics program he is READING! They teach the rules of phonics so he feels confident to decode any word he sees instead of looking for cues and trying to guess and memorize. They have both blossomed in their faith and seem to think about moral dilemmas and problems differently than before.
We are happy at ACS!

Homework supports the curriculum and I can see my children's progress in real time and it has taught my daughter responsibility for her work. The amount seems reasonable based on my children's ages.

Way too much, like they don't have enough to do already, staying up until 11 pm was not okay.
Posted: September 13, 2020
Most of the time they did not have answers to my questions.
Posted: September 13, 2020
My daughter was already compassionate but she learned to respect others and have integrity while there.
Posted: September 13, 2020
Principal was great but then he left, new principal was too busy to lead.
Posted: September 13, 2020
Just because a student wanders off doesn't mean they should get in trouble. Having students sit in the hallway is just stupid and doesn't teach them anything and just makes them feel bad and embarrassed. There was also a lot of favoritism towards kids who had already been going there for a while. Forget the efforts of their projects because they weren't going to win regardless.
Posted: September 13, 2020
All teachers and staff just put it off as "kids will be kids" and never dealt with bullying. My child got bullied but I didn't find out until the third year because she thought she would get in trouble.

I felt like we wasted our money. The education was no different, the lessons were too much with way too much homework! The other kids were definitely not "christian" and I don't think half the parents were either. Don't wast your money. The curriculum is no better than a public school. The receptionist was the best and I loved her!

We have four children, all of who attend or have attended ACS. If you are a parent searching for a school for your child, look no further. It's the best gift you can give your child. They will be nurtured and loved by an qualified faculty. They will get a top notch education, but most of all, they will be equipped with a Christian world view.

ACS is not just a school is a family, where we developed lifelong friendships. The high academics provided a strong foundation for all of my children. In addition to developing strong academic skills reading, writing and math; they have developed confidence and are able to speak and present intelligently in front of a large audience. My children have all participated in invention convention, science fair, history day, spelling bee, speech meets along with basketball and track. They were well prepared for high school spiritually, academically and athletically.

Bullying is not tolerated, and these types of issues are handled from a Biblical, as well as an emotional and practical perspective.
Posted: April 30, 2017
Because of size and resource limitations, ACS is not a school for special education students. Hewever, accomodations are made for those with less severe learning difficulties, even serving some with IEP's. Teachers are always willing to do whatever is needed to help students have every opportunity to learn.

The Leadership is concerned with creating a school in which the whole family is connected and involved. The principal is encouraging and approachable.

Integrity and compassion are LIVED out daily at ACS. All discipline is handled from a "Love and Logic" perspective. Teachers pray with students every day, and each class takes on some sort of service project each year. Students are taught to be grateful, thoughtful, prayerful and helpful. These things are modeled and recognized daily.

The teachers at ACS are phenomenal! They love and care for their students, and truly strive to make learning relevant and fun everyday.
Posted: April 30, 2017
Homework is not excessive, but is usually just what students need to finish from regular classwork.

ACS is the most unique school in the city of Albuquerque. It offers a small, almost "hometown" feel, as families and children develop friendsips and bonds that last for years. Yet, in spite of the love and coonection at ACS, it also offers much more. The academic opportunities are outstanding. ACS teachers are trained in exciting best practices in order to reach "all the students all the time." Many of our ACS students or formet students have placed in the top 10% in national competitions or in their high school graduating class. Finally, the Biblical learning and spiritual depth exhibited at this school are unequalled. This small school is a gem and "a best kept secret!"

My son and I both love the school. He is now in 2nd grade, he's been going since kindergarten and he refuses to go to any other school. The teachers are great, I love the closeness of the school, the Christian teaching, and the school is challenging. Also, I love how the parents are so involved in the school. Overall, great school!

My two daughters went to ACS throughout elementary and mid-school. It was a great partner with our family in advanced academics, strong spiritual training, and leadership preparedness. When they graduated from ACS and went to a large public high school, they were more than prepared in all of these areas, they were ADVANCED. ACS philosophy and staff drive their kids to excel in all academic areas, in public speaking, in group projects, in spiritual and moral leadership as well. They produce kind, compassionate, and community minded kids who are ready to help and lead in the world around them. My daughters were shaped so much by their experience at ACS. I just can't say how grateful I am to the school for this.

Great school. Our son is achieving his academic potential and the school turns out highly competitive students. The environment is safe and accommodating. I am a college professor and my wife is a teacher by training, so we had high expectations, which this school exceeded.

We had our kids in ACS from Pre-K through 6th grade. We recently moved out of state and the kids are now in excellent public schools. We had no idea where the kids would be academically when we got here, but I am happy to report they are both making straight A's in rigorous curricula. Additionally, the teachers are always complimentary about how respectful they both are, and how great their organizational and writing skills are, and I know that has a lot to do with their years at ACS. There is nothing more positive than having your child start his or her school day with the all-school assembly, singing positive songs, acknowledging student achievements, generally with a lot of the parents in the room, too. We felt that the pre-K and kindergarten programs at ACS were particularly strong. If you are looking for an alternative to public school in Albuquerque, please consider ACS. We knew when we were putting them there that it was to keep them in a bit of a "bubble," but it has been an added bonus to learn after the fact that they they were getting an outstanding education there, too.

I have been impressed with this school from the first time I stepped foot in the front door. We are always greeted enthusiastically and with a genuine smile by staff and faculty. My son is in Kindergarten and is flourishing in a program that holds him accountable. The curriculum is challenging but the balance of compassion and genuine investment of the faculty in their students is worth much more than tuition can ever repay. This school is well worth the more than reasonable monetary investment you put in the future of your child. if you are looking for a school that nurtures your child to succeed academically and spiritually, this is the place to be. I have never seen such compassion among students in my life. The older students (middle school aged) are always polite and kind to the younger students (again my son is in Kindergarten) and I can't tell you how many times I have witnessed an older student encouraging a much younger student. Love it!
