Terrible, the school sucks, the staff and teachers are terrible, theyre rude, disrespectful, and honestly not smart. The communication between the teachers and families suck, and to be respectful, most of the staff are stupid. I don't know how they got a job there, but if they're rude to the families I cannot imagine how they are towards the children. My younger brother goes there and he gets bullied almost every day and the teachers has yet to do anything about it, please get new staff.
I do not recommend this school at all, please do not take your children here.

*The teachers are this schoolÂ’s strength! They work very hard to provide students with engaging curriculum and a fun, safe learning environment.
*Current principal has driven away great faculty and staff with her absurd/ unnecessary/spiteful actions. She has proven herself dishonest and disrespectful toward others and prioritizes herself above all else, including student learning.
*Lacks a school-wide discipline plan. Student misbehavior and disrespect toward adults not dealt with any long term, meaningful way. This has very negative consequences for all students.
*Campus is trashy, older buildings are very run down and in disrepair. Upgraded playground is nice.
*Many excellent community volunteers, including former parents, are committed to helping this school.

My experience at Montezuma is very positive. The current principal creates an atmosphere of respect for teachers and students. The teachers work tirelessly to meet the needs of their students and make learning fun. Montezuma offers strong academics and before and after school care as well as interesting after school clubs. There are many community and family events. Montezuma is to be commended for their efforts on behalf of students and families!

What a terrific place for kids from all walks of life to learn. If your kid is a genius, don't worry. He or she will get placed asap into the talent pool for gifted education. If he or she struggles in one or more areas, you've got a strong team in place with plenty of resources to help. The school may have struggled under previous administrations, but the current principal, teachers, and support staff are absolutely terrific. And the kids themselves are generally nice and friendly. There's no snobbery here, which is the atmosphere that I want for my child. Those nonsensical "school grades" that the state used to assign are based on false assumptions and fail to tell the whole story about this school (and many others). Also, the bilingual program is quite strong. So thank you, Montezuma ES team, for creating a warm and caring school for my child!

Terrible school. Do not enroll your children in this school. It is extremely lacking in organization, safety, and it is a low quality school when it comes to academics. This school is one of the worst schools in New Mexico and there was also a safety concern when it comes to risks of my children who I enrolled here. I regret ever putting them in this school and advise parents to not make the same mistake.

This school is absolutely terrible and I regret ever putting my children in this school. It is a low budget, unorganized school and it is extremely low on the academic scale. I wish I had know the facts about this school prior to enrolling my children. Do not put your children in this school.

awesome school. And its just down the block! I love Montezuma because of the passion of its teachers and the amazingly diverse student population. My three kids have moved through the grades and made great friends from all parts of life. Its a real school and not one that rich parents should want to escape from or parents new to ABQ feel shied away. Its a wonderful blend of acceptance and achievement! Help the PTA help your teachers help your students! Be a part of a community and activate learning in your child!

My son went here for kindergarten and I ended up pulling him out in October. After emailing the principal and trying to communicate with the teacher with no improved results. I realized this school was in need of many improvements. I would not recommend this school as it is lacking in a sense of community and high academics.

I went Montezuma elementary school from k-5 and i loved my school!, but these years its changed a lot!. I have a son who is special and they seem not to have a lot to offer to him and im getting tired that everyday he's at the principals office, and they have him bouncing from one class to another not knowing what to do with him and I think this is ridiculous! !! , and they also don't have many after school programs to offer.

I went to Montezuma for all of my Elem. and I would say that it was the best out of all of the schools i went to. My 3rd grade teacher was teaching us Algebra and instilled in me a love and yes i said Love of math.

I was a teacher there and it has the best faculty and the greatest people to work with..Everything is for the education of the kids .
