Best school ever!! My kids were so welcome and the teachers were kind and open with the parents.

This is the first year my daughter attended this school since they expanded the special education strategies program. She is autistic and since she started at Allen she has more attitude. Also now hits herself when she is frustrated.
I found out the special education class did not have a teacher first quarter, but relied on substitute teachers to give students, (that thrive on consistency and routine) education. Substitute teachers that I was told from an aid that they were not following the curriculum. Parents of the special education class were not notified there was no teacher. I kept asking the office if they could get me in touch with the teacher earlier this year but never got a reply.
I just got her progress report and it says she has 80% in everything but in comments it says there is not enough info on my student. Where are they getting the grade if there is no info? Sounds like they forged her grade to me. Only part that was properly filled out was speech (which is done by her speech therapy teacher) I take my daughters education very seriously. Even give her workbooks for her to do over breaks. Why was she learning more during summer than the first quarter.

The school district took her from a school she was thriving and put her in a school with no teacher. Basically she has been going to school the last quarter for no reason. Absolutely ridiculous.

If I were rating this school on the staff I would give it a five star, but I cannot rate any higher than a two. I had three children complete their elementary classes at Lois Allen and a fourth complete through the fourth grade, I thought this was a really good school until I had to move my youngest to another school within Washoe County. My child was getting A's and B's but when we moved he dropped to D's and F's. I thought it was due to the move but when I looked into it I realized it was Lois Allen that failed my son. The school is behind in curriculum compared to other schools. I understand most of the parents speak little English and that is where a large percentage of teaching goes (translating or teaching English, but the other students are falling behind. Your children are suffering, please look into this for the benefit of your children and our future leaders.

I think Lois Allen is a wonderful school. The principal is just wondeful. The teachers are great. This will be our 4th year and we have a kindergardener who just started. This schools teachers and staff go above and beyond for all the student and their familys. Education is top priority of the teachers just as it should be! Lois allen has an open door policy meaning parents are always welcome to visit any time. What wonderful school, iam a proud parent of two Lois Allen students

My students have attended this school starting this schol year due to my principal not granting variences before school started. I chose this school (their father's zone school) over my own zone school due to the all day kinder they offer. My children are in 2nd, kinder and the PreK program. My 2 youngest get speach services. The teachers all communicate well with me via e-mail. My children are excelling. My 5 year old is always using her new vocabulary words in proper context and loves to sing the songs she is learning. My 7 year old loves math and gets the reading support she needs to be a more confident reader. My 3 year old son is talking in sentences and LOVES going to school! I am very satisfied with this school and the administration seems great! I also like the way they have ability group the students in their classes. some people frown on this approach, but as a student that felt held back in class because of struggling students, I highly support it.

Some of the staff should move on, but others are just great. Teachers need to know that it is about the student, not their cleavage, style, or them at all.
