My purpose for writing this review is to let future employees know what they are entering into by accepting employment at Caughlin. I want to say that the teachers love the children that are enrolled and provide a safe and happy environment for them. The issue is with the admin. Since the director is semi-retired and not present in the building much, the admin runs the place and the director only hears her side of the story. The assistant director is wonderful and she is the reason the staff stay as long as they do before moving on. But even her voice is not heard by the director and admin. My experience is an example; I started working at Caughlin in 2023. In the interview I was told my hours were from 8am to 4:30 pm. The first day I arrived at work my hours were changed to 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. I let all three know that I would like my hours changed as soon as possible and was told I’m next on the list. So I waited. Several new hires were given the shift I was waiting for and when I asked about it was told I’m next in line. During the next three years I received only one review and it was the worst review I have received in my working career. Most of what was negative on the review was from the first year I worked. Why the issues they had with me were not brought up until two years later and in a review instead of at the time of occurrence in a conversation I still don’t know. I talked to the assistant director about it and she agreed it was a little harsh and that I’m doing what I should be doing. the admin lies when the truth sounds better. When I would ask questions for clarity the admin and director saw that as disagreeing with them and as a threat to their authority. The admin was on vacation and the assistant director changed my hours to 8-4:30. When the admin found out she decided I needed to stay later because the closer in my room can not handle the children. When I said I can not change my hours I was sent a text message at 8:30pm on a Monday night from the director telling me to change my hours or give my two weeks notice. The director did not give me the professional courtesy of a face to face conversation. She did not care what my side of the conversation with the admin was. it was the admins way or the highway, so I found a new job and put in my two weeks. I worked my two weeks and left on good terms.

We absolutely love Caughlin Preschool! We live in South Reno and it takes us approximately 30 min to get our boys to school every morning. But the school absolutely worth the drive. Top notch from the owner throughout the entire staff. From toddler to private kindergarten, all the teachers are great! The curriculum are outstanding and my kids have learned so much at expressing their thoughts and feelings. I couldn't be any happier! Thank you so much for everything you do!
