IEP’s, medical and disability they work with quite well. I give them credit on that. Psychological I would say they don’t want to deal with in a correct way. They just soon want you gone.

It’s a dog eat dog place. The trick is how to traumatize someone without getting turned in or pinned with it. If you’re a victim, see comment about the elite family name. If so, problem solved. If not, they ignore, her-haw or run you off. Elite also applies to monetary donations for programs. You pay for your favors

Not a war zone, lots of drama though, rumors fly as if the truth with no clarification of facts by admin. Best to keep a low profile and know who the “friends” are. Extra curriculars are well rounded and overall successful. If you can imagine it, it’s happened here even though it’s not publicly covered. However the news is discouraged from reporting it. You’ll hear the same stories from at least three unrelated (they don’t know each other) sources to know what’s real and confirm it. But overall, given the choices around the south Dayton area, I’d keep this on my very short list of final three districts to consider. Teachers are great, I just wish the Administration stepped into the 21st century and understand the new breed of students. Either you fit or don’t. You’ll learn quickly and can be shunned from the click in a heartbeat if you make too many waves.

They do the best they can given that 80% of school is preparing for state testing versus actual teaching. Their hands are tied as pretty much any other district.

Cookie cutter assembly line, see comment about rocking the boat. If diversity only means unionized liberal, that’s understandable. They hate conservatives.

We are a military family who love Miamisburg schools and have chosen to retire so that our children can complete their high school years in a supportive, rigorous academic and great student activities environment. Our teens have been able to participate in student government, varsity athletics and various other clubs and activities. The teachers have been great and the guidance counsellors are awesome. Our oldest is graduating this year and we have two more to go! We have enjoyed and continue to look forward many years in the Miamisburg district. Go Vikes!

Being a military family, we strive for educational continuity for our kids. When we moved into the area we chose the Miamisburg school district for a couple different reasons. First, Miamisburg residents consistently show their support for the schools in the community through events, school spirit, and more importantly at the voting polls. Secondly, the high school offered a large variety of educational tracks that appealed to my son. Initially we were concerned about the size of the student enrollment; however, the school seems to maintain a great sense of community and student:teacher ratio. They utilize teaching methods that are current in technology, group assignments that stretch imagination, and individually tailored schedules. This is a great high school and we enjoyed our time here. Go Vikes!

This is an excellent school district! My son love it and the teachers are awesome. He is going to be well prepared when he leaves for college next year. I would recommend this school district to anyone! Go Vikings!!

We are military we live on a budget, we have lived all over the USA, this school is not friendly to newcomers/military. They assume you know where everything is, how everything works because this is how they have always done it. Sure they have a marching band program at 500.00 a child per year. When you live on a budget and have other expenses, you are treated poorly if your checkbook is not endless. Literally when I tried to put my child in a cheaper band program the school offered I was told to not bother since I would not pay the 500.00 for band, I was told money should not be a factor. (seriously) If your kid is not the most athletic child on the team expect to be treated differently. They expect alot of volunteering which is diffucult when a spouse deploys overseas. Its just not a school I would have chosen. I wish I had done more research before I purchased my home in this school district.
