West Carrolton has an open enrollment policy with no behavior plans in place. Often students are expelled from other schools and then admitted to West Carrollton. As a teacher, it is one of the most stressful school environments to work in. West Carrollton's behavior is equal, if not worse, than Dayton City Schools. The administration creates a toxic work environment with little to no support. The students who want to learn often experience stressful school environments with school fights and bullying.

I am a parent of two West Carrollton students, a recent graduate and a current senior. My children have received a top notch education. I have found that if the parent is involved the teachers and administration will go out of their way to assist a student. The school has as much to offer as the students/parents are willing to look for.

I am on this website because I am disappointed in West Carrollton's standards. The teachers are kind yet some do not put their best effort towards teaching. Helping students personally with a problem is not good at all they address the class and leave out details. Not the entire staff is bad but a good portion is just unbearable. The school is also terribly filthy(bugs and mice) and in the summer the heat is not a good learning environment because the building only has a.c. in one wing of classrooms.

As a recent graduate and transfer student from a different state I can say with assurance that West Carrollton Senior High School is a good school and one of the best choices in the Dayton area. As far as public schools go Ohio is not the best--that is what it is--in the case of WCHS it's improving. Within the past four years they have added numerous honours courses in all subjects (especially sciences and history.) The classes are typically between 15~21 students in size and the teachers do their best to help all the students. The math department is the weakest aspect of the school; however, as previously stated--improving. The strongest aspect of the school is the sense of family. The teachers are often referred to sans title (i.e. "Smith" as opposed to "Mr. Smith") and the students are very involved and spirited. There is a common punch line of "It's WC" when things go wrong but in the end the students come together as a whole. In summary, WCHS is a school with a lot of character and a good sense of community. There is room to improve but in all a great experience!

I'm a student that goes to this school. It's not as bad as what everyone seems to make it out to be. They have many scholarship options and has received and excellent rating by the state of Ohio. It has had a few problems in the past but the administrators are quickly making up for it. It's not big on the money department so the building itself isn't the greatest but there are many teachers there that work their hardest go help you succeed and many of the teachers are enforcing essential assets and students are encouraged to go out and participate in community service. While Miamisburg is a good choice in it's own it's not the only and not the best choice of schools. The students at West Carrollton are a wide mixed variation of people and new things are almost always accepted with open arms. I personally think it's an amazing school with pride.
