This is a very difficult school to teach in with little to no support from the administration. Cussing, verbal threats, and school fights are commonplace. The administration suggests ignoring negative behavior and allows bullying to occur saying it's just playing around. Teachers are held to an unrealistic standard of instructional integrity when half of the students will not participate. Teaching appointments are at the district's discretion, and teachers are reappointed to different buildings or even punished by given positions they do not want if they speak up about the teaching conditions.

I am a current student at the West Carrollton Middle School, and i have great pride to go to this school. I have gone to this school district all my life, and I enjoy it here. Soon we will be replacing the old middle school building and high school, and I am sad I won't see that. My school has a lot of opportunity's like the MVCTC, a technical school with over 50 programs. Almost everyone who goes to the MVCTC gets a scholarship, and you can get a job according to your chosen (keep your grades up to get what you want) profession, like chefs have a cafe or the programmers get jobs from NASA. There is a lot of opportunity to progress past your peers even in elementary, with ELC (the advanced classes for elementary school) and 4 high school classes by 8th grade (Algebra, Physical science, English 1, and German/Spanish). They also dealt with my ADHD (and my 2 brothers who had worse ADHD) very well, letting me burn off some energy quietly while they did calendar work since I could do all of it easily. I said it once and I will say it again, I love my school and I would hate to move away.

Most teachers only give homework if didn't get done, or we need extra practice and it works well.

Most of the teachers are kind and are willing to help you as much as you need.

Students who are good get better, while bad students are controlled and attempted to mold better. Works sometimes, but some people but cant be helped.

I have never heard of bullying or been bullied at this school, at all. All there is, is friendly banter (sometimes there are fights over things said/done, but they are fairly rare and you wont get in a fight ever unless you look for one)

My son attends WCMS and he does very well. He has ASD and the staff has been great at working with him to succeed. I love the teachers here, and my son is happy and well adjusted.

wouldn't 5 out of 10 be the same as a "C" in the grading system. Not good if you ask me. WC isn't too far behind Dayton Schools.
