In my years at ascension I hated every minute of it. Most if not all the staff especially the principal were condescending and insincere towards students and parents. They treated us like they were somehow above us did not make it a fit social environment. I recommend litterally any other school including all the other catholic schools.

Ascension School is OUTSTANDING!! My children have had an AMAZING experience at Ascension Catholic School. The teachers and staff are not only top notch educators, but they have become an extension to our family. I don’t know what I would’ve done without their kindness, encouragement, and support. They have always been the biggest cheerleaders for my kids. Always encouraging the kids to grow and become the best they can be. Showing the kids that learning is fun and it’s important to be a lifetime learner. Instilling in the kids that service is important and taking care of those less fortunate will always reap many more rewards than just thinking about yourself. I highly recommend anyone who has school age children or children beginning school soon to look into Ascension School. It was the best decision for our family!

My children have attended Ascension for many years. I have only had positive experiences and interactions with the staff and faculty. I've enjoyed the change in principals. Mrs. Digiorgo is very pleasant and professional. I would recommend this school.

The principal is not very sincere nor does she follow up with parents very quickly. She also doesn't seem to respect or value the time volunteers give to the school. The teachers for grades K-3 are just o.k. and several really don't seem to be there because they love teaching children. The teachers grade 4-6 are very professional and kind. The junior high teachers are a mix of it just being a job and others who are there because they really want to better young people.

I wish there was a lower rating than one star. This will be the last year my child goes to Ascension, so far looking into public schools. I feel like the church teaches love, compassion, and respect. Then my child files into the school where the teachers at catty and just don't care. In addition I love the comment below about drinking the kool-aid and trying to convince people it wasn't that bad.

Don't waist your time or money with this school. Private school use to be the best route. The teachers here are useless and do not drive the kids to do well.

After 2 years I have no patience left with these teachers. I grew up thinking that Private/Catholic school would be the best education available. Wrapping up now 2 years of disappointment. Teachers in the class don't lead or command the class. Children are crying in the classroom and crying in the hallway. Total waist of time and money. My kid is now behind.

My children have been very happy at this school. My husband and I have been very pleased with the teachers, principal, and office staff. Have not seen a school with so many parents willing to lend their time. If a child needs extra help with school, teachers have a large group of Virtus trained volunteers willing to donate their time to extra, individualized attention. Everyone has been very welcoming over the past three years. I drank the koolaid. Not only was it not poison, it's just right!

This has been a horrible experience for my children. The staff turnover the last few years has been huge and the current staff is selfish and interested only in their wants. They've allowed students to be bullied (including my own), fall farther behind academically, and worry more about getting national press because of their internal issues. I drank the koolaid thinking my children would be better off there but I was majorily wrong. The principal is leaving and has cared less the last two years about students or families, the staff is rude and condescending. Very disappointed in our experience, and we've been there for over 7 years total:(

I have had children at Ascension for 12 years and we have two more years until my youngest finishes with eighth grade and moves on to high school. My 5 older children, who all graduated from Ascension, were well prepared by the instruction and strong academics they received at Ascension. The teachers are very supportive and involved with the students and they encouraged, engaged and challenged my children. Communication with the teachers is easy and they are available for conferencing or just chatting at any time. The Catholic religion classes are not only taught to the students but the students are expected to live out the Gospel values with many service opportunities offered at each grade level.

My youngest is still a student at Ascension and my two older sons have now gone on to college, and I have been very involved in the school for the last 16 years. I can truly say that the teachers are dedicated, caring individuals who are excellent role models for the students. They work with the students on their own level and attempt to help all of them excel. Christian values are taught and demonstrated on a daily basis. The students test scores are much higher than average for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati schools and our students are well prepared for rigorous college prep high school curriculums. In recent years, several of our grads have been the valedictorians/salutatorians at Carroll High School. I highly recommend Ascension to anyone searching for a great education in a Christian environment.

Best school in the Dayton area! I believe every kid who would like to be Catholic, and get a great education the I strongly believe you should go to St. Albert the Great school.
