My daughter had spent the entirety of her school life at Central Academy, up until she got to the 6th grade. The 6th grade teachers seemed quite happy to let her flounder, which she immediately did, in spite of being a high scorer (and adored by all of her teachers) for the whole of her time there. It was with a great sadness that we withdrew her and enrolled her in Summiot Academy, but I'm glad we did. The teachers clearly take a personal interest in here, and she's now happy to go to her classes, rather than being singled out and dreading each new day as a teacher-selected outcast. Central Academy is great at the elementary level, but above that, if you are the parent of a child who has a "different" way of viewing the world, then Summit Academy may well be the place for your child.

This school was one of the main reasons we moved to Ohio - and, after 2 years, we thank God we did. There are very few schools in the COUNTRY that are staffed and managed with men and women who know anything about teaching ADHD and high-functioning Aspergers kids. We came from an area back east with (supposedly) one of the best school districts in the nation - and a budget well over $1 Billion a year - and they were CLUELESS when in came to teaching our boy. A good bit of the teaching is self-paced to match where the child is - computers are used a lot to achieve this. Summit is where the rest of the country should be heading in that department. This school is a blessing and the people there are super.
