We were initially very excited about enrolling our child at Dayton Montessori Society. We then reviewed their handbook closely and saw a lot of red flags with their program. Our child never attending DMS because of harsh and exclusive language in their handbook. Other Montessori schools have a welcoming and inclusive nature, recognizing there are many different family and cultural backgrounds to raising a child. There is language in their handbook that directly threatens our cultural choices and upbringing and this was unacceptable. We selected a different Montessori school for this reason.

This school is amazing! The teachers are absolutely the best! They get a great education; they support the child emotionally and physically. You can tell they really care for their students!

Dayton Montessori was ABSOLUTELY ONE of the best decisions my husband and I ever made and the best gift we could have given to our boys! The DMS program operates true to Maria Montessoris principles and is delivered by one of the most dedicated teachers and administration staff. The Dayton Montessori Society provided our children with a strong foundation in math, verbal and public speaking skills. It also promotes tremendous independence and responsibility in students. The DMS education develops students who are capable, accountable, knowledgeable people who have the strong sense of self they will need to thrive in the real world. Best of all, my childrens love of learning and curiosity is still as bright and evident as it was when they entered the school as 3-year-olds and left at 6th grade. My boys graduated DMS mastering research, collaboration, public speaking and time management. In addition to the curriculum, DMS taught our children life lessons and the importance of respect for others and peaceful behavior and a better understanding of the world we live in. Students of DMS are engaged, self motivated learners who partake in in-depth studies and learn complex concepts to the point of mastery and not just for a passing grade on a test. The depth and breadth of knowledge that these students acquire and retain with these hands on individualized method of teaching is truly remarkable. We are so grateful to this school, the exceptional staff and community for providing our children with the skills and confidence to be independent lifelong learners and move on and flourish! DMS is worth the investment!

I work in education, and I can say hands down that this is the best educational experience that my children have had. All three of my boys attended this Montessori program from 3 years old through Kindergarten. The staff and administrator are excellent. My children learned more than just academics. All 3 of my children had very different learning styles, which were easily met and encouraged. The Montessori method is fully embraced here, and my children flourished. I would recommend this school in a heartbeat to ANYONE who asked for my input.

My children attended preschool through third grade. I only had to withdraw them because we moved. I certainly wish we could have stayed. The Head of School does an excellent job of using the Montessori method, and treats all the children with respect and patience. My kids are reading well ahead of grade level, and have a deep understanding of math concepts rather than rote memorization of tables. They have a love of learning for learning's sake and will (at 6 and 8 yrs old) create their own experiments to solve problems. They independently research topics of interest to themselves without anyone asking or any external motivation whatsoever. I am forever grateful to the staff at Dayton Montessori Society for the great start my children received.
