My daughter was bullied out of this school and the administrators allowed it. I took my receipts multiple times and was told “not to add fuel to the fire”. I unenrolled my daughter with less than a month of school let and I/she could not be more happy about our decisions.

Academics are meh. I feel like the students have zero accountability when it comes to class work and are not going to be prepared for college. lol

We chose this school for our child because they work at the academic level the student is at, instead of by grade as traditional schools do. So, if you don't have any kind of other issues, you will probably be fine sending your child there. However, the high school is still a fairly new school. Make sure you vet it properly. These are just a few issues we dealt with. I have receipts for everything. We had the teacher that told us to lie about our child's age to join a club with age requirements. The teacher that embarrassed our child in front of everyone on a school trip because she didn't have a shirt on over her bathing suit when no one told her that she needed a shirt on over her bathing suit. The guidance counselor that was well aware of my child's career path and choices but still told her to take certain classes only to now find out they were a waste of time and money. My child worked extremely hard in school. She graduated a year early and with an associate's degree because of HER dedication and hard work. Cin-Day tried to take credit for that instead of giving her the recognition she deserved. Credit they do not deserve especially as we are now finding out she was "guided" in the wrong direction multiple times. She should have been class valedictorian, but was told they didn't do that, without her even asking about it. The school then had 2 other students speak at graduation, but not my child. When I found out and questioned it, I was told by the principal that there was an announcement asking for volunteers to speak made in a class (that my daughter wasn't in) and my daughter wasn't there. In a class she wasn't even in? Of course she wasn't there. Both students later said they were asked to speak, they didn't volunteer. They left details out about my child (only my child) in the graduation program then tried to blame her for it. They then offered to reprint it, after graduation was over. Complaining to the school board president won't help you either. When I spoke to her about the incompetence, she told me the program was new and maybe they wouldn't do it anymore since I wasn't happy. Blaming the parent for their fails and for taking the program away seems insane to me. She tried to gaslight me, and when I called her out on it, she said "GOODBYE" and hung up on me.

I have worked at CinDay for over 20 years and my 4 children attend CinDay as well. My oldest has been there from PreK-present. My children are excited to go to school and share what they’ve learned. As a parent, I personally value the flexible learning styles, hands-on learning, and nurturing environment. I want my children to be able to move, be engaged in their learning and want to continue to their behind the classroom. CinDay continues to meet this standards each year. I am thankful for a school that thinks outside the box and prioritizes happy healthy kids.

My kids have had an amazing preschool-2nd grade experience. They love school and their teachers. They have learned so much, and each at their own level. I could not be more happy with CinDay.

I went to the Middle school part of if for 2019-2020 but left before the pandemic. I will say I didn't like my time here. I never got homework so that is a 1. They did do some Character things for the little kids but kinda brushed it on the older kids. The teachers are nice but they just don't know what they are doing. They are unprepared and just do what ever the "standards" say. Every one was on the same level of learning. You could be super smart and always be ahead but at this school everyone is on the same level. They never did a thing about bullying. they would just have meeting that would only say "be nice" and that was it. You could send you kid here but be warned.

Former student here who graduated about two years ago. I only went to the high school, so I can’t speak for the lower grades. If your kid is already very self-directed (i.e., will complete coursework without you monitoring them to ensure they do so) and doesn’t need a lot of help learning, then CinDay is a good fit. I enjoyed the freedom we got, but I can’t see an unfocused and/or undisciplined kid doing great.
Please judge your kid honestly-don’t send them to a school if they won’t thrive. Most kids at CinDay are already smart with the work ethic of an advanced placement student. Please don’t enroll your kid if that doesn’t sound like them-your kid will probably struggle and/or be unhappy.
My days went like this: I would log in and do my class work. If I had a question or was unable to figure something out, I went to a monitor for help. If you don’t think your child would be able to do that, I don’t recommend enrolling.
Take all these reviews with a grain of salt. CinDay’s high school is still very new and thus undergoes changes every year. For example: you can no longer gain more privileges with a high S-Level. I was an S4, meaning I could have my cell phone with me all day if I wanted to.

My kids are thriving at CinDay. No one asked me to make this review and I’ve never felt pressure to volunteer or fundraise. I do that because I love supporting a school that supports my kids. They have one fundraiser a year with no pressure to go and that’s way less than the amount my nieces and nephews have at a public school.

This is the foundation of the school. Some years would have been so rough if it wasn’t for the staff accommodating my oldest learning style. They also helped me find a learning disability in my second child and pointed me in the right direction and he did a complete 180 after proper tutoring.

Yes! If you are an advocate for your child they will listen and not put up with it. Also the smaller student to teacher ratio helps to minimize bullying in the first place.

We have been at the school for over 10 years and are very thankful for the education our kids are receiving. They consistently score well on standardized tests but even more important to us, they are in an environment that encourages life long learning! One commenter talked about receiving pressure to give- after more than 10 years, we have never felt pressure to give financially. We have done so when our budget allowed but never felt we were treated differently when it didn’t allow. Also, I have never felt pressured to review the school and happened upon this site and wanted to share our experience!

You will be very hard pressed to find teachers that love their students and love teaching more than the teachers at CinDay and that is incredibly important to me as a mom. Because the teachers are so happy to be there, I believe they’re very effective because their excitement is contagious. Not only are they kind, we know they get to know our kids and how they learn and challenge them to grow academically.

Absolutely!! Character development is always a huge part of what is taught. There have been times with my own kids where They have had small behavior issues- they were met with kindness and positive reinforcement. It is our desire for our kids to do well academically, but raising kids who grow up to be kind adults is even more important and CinDay enforced those ideas consistently.

If I ever have an issue, I know I can take it to the principal and she will be responsive quickly. Is every answer exactly what I want? No, but she explains the reasoning and takes time to listen to my concerns and I always feel like my voice is heard and valued. I always encourage parents who have complaints to speak with her as often we as parents don’t get the full story and getting another perspective is always important.

We loved most of the teachers at CinDay, but unfortunately our children were falling behind in academics, especially in math. They had a hard time catching up when they went to public schools. Cinday is a nice environment, but our children got a watered-down education there.

Teachers are wonderful people who are poorly prepared and trained to actually teach. “Project based” learning is code for fun activities that have little to do with challenging academics. Stepping outside of the bubble of the school and into other districts is an eye opening (and devastating) experience. Be prepared for costly and timely remediation in nearly every subject area. Not to mention the confidence devastation your child will experience being far behind peers.

The vibe is very friendly and inclusive. Character strengths are encouraged and elevated as part of the curriculum. So why the bad rating? I generally found this to be all talk. Actual conflict was handled very poorly and it was clear staff and school administration have no actual training or background in handling serious behavior issues or conflict.

Do your homework as a parent and ask about actual education of school leadership. You might be surprised. Further, expect leadership to mostly focus on 1) reverence to the school’s founder and principal, and 2) a shameless and constant cycle of begging and pressure for more money. Tuition goes up every year, but don’t be fooled into thinking you’re done there. There’s every expectation you’ll volunteer hours of your week doing grunt work (cleaning lunch rooms, gardening) and also shelling out hundreds for every school fundraiser.

Don’t believe the hype (and school requested parent reviews). Your child’s education is one of the most important choices you’ll ever make. Do your own research and homework. Ask for verified school-wide test averages. Ask hard questions about math and science curriculum. Ask about the administration’s educational background and continuing education. Ask for school violence or conflict policy and procedures. Talk to parents who’ve left the school and ask why. And you likely won’t even need my review after all of that.

There is no homework, which is welcome as a parent but you end up hardly knowing what your kid is learning. Which may not be a lot, as it turns out. I support the reduced homework approach, but if the in-school curriculum isn’t up to snuff, a little homework probably wouldn’t hurt!

CinDay Academy has been such a blessing for our family. We have been here for 6 years. My children mostly home schooled before this, and the transition was smooth to come here. Our kids have found good friends, and their teachers invest in them inside and outside of school hours. My children are discovering their academic strengths, life interests, and learning styles. They are being challenged to learn at their level, regardless of their peer’s levels.

When I think of what I want for my children as they grow up, I can think of no better place for them to spend their days. Today's student is growing up in a world that is changing rapidly and CinDay offers an education that matches that. Students are taught how to work together as a team; how to communicate in front of an audience; how to add creativity and critical thinking to their work. There's no teaching to the test- an outdated and ineffective way to educate our kids. My kids all have very different needs and each one of them is growing as a learner and as a person at CinDay.

I am a former student at the CinDay Academy. The school doesn't focus on math. The staff is okay, but the educational standards are pretty low. Teachers tell parents what they want to hear - it's all fluff. If you transfer schools, you will be very behind. The school tries to keep tuition low, but hounds families to donate money and hosts pushy fundraisers. In my opinion, there are better schools in the area to attend.

The emphasis on character development helps to prevent bullying for the most part, but when there are problems, teachers are very communicative with parents and work together to solve issues between students.

The learning individualization at this school is amazing. Students are assessed in each subject and get customized learning for that subject, much of which is enabled through the use of technology and smart learning apps. They also loop grade levels which helps not only with leadership development, but also helps to eliminate stigma around students learning at different levels and paces - it's just a natural occurrence in the classroom setting.

They understand that time with family, extra-curricular activities, and a good night's sleep are important for a child's development, and those can't happen if they are loaded with homework every evening.

This school has made a huge difference for my children! It is night and day from our public school experience. My kids love school now and are excited to go every day. With project-based and interdisciplinary learning, they get more of a real-world experience and learn more comprehensive approaches to tackling problems. I also love that learning is so individualized. Students work at their own level rather than being taught to the average. CinDay Academy incorporates brain research into their curriculum and teaching methods, so learning is based on science rather than legislation - and it is working wonders with my kids! I also love the character education. Academy students are given so many opportunities to develop holistically and show leadership and get recognition for it. I can't say enough good things about the Academy - amazing extra- and co-curriculars, emphasis on life balance and wellness, incredible teachers, use of technology, fun environment, beautiful grounds and classrooms - this school has it all.

We’ve been a part of the Academy family for 12 years. Our children started in preschool and moved into the middle school program. I can’t say enough good things about the Academy. Our children thrived in the small classrooms and hands-on learning. The themed-based curriculum makes learning fun. The teachers are hands down the best! The Academy is an amazing school and we are so glad that we made the choice to send our twins there. The teachers and entire staff truly care about the children and have an obvious passion for what they do. The school is very forward thinking in regards to curriculum as well as the environment. We love the small class size as well as the individualized learning.It is so wonderful to have classes such as Spanish, Music, PE and Art starting as early as kindergarten. The parents are also very involved and take an active role in their children's education which is very nice to see. We were so thrilled to learn earlier this year that The Academy will extend through high school.

Our family moved to the area 6 years ago. We were not happy with the local public school system and quickly began a search for other educational opportunities for our children. We actually drove by the school one day while running errands, and decided to find out more. We set up a tour and meeting with the founder, and principal, Gina. As we walked and talked from building to building and observed the classes, it was clear that this was no ordinary school. There was no evidence of cookie cutter education, no kids staring blankly at a dry erase board, text book or computer screen.They were engaged in a multitude of activities, all revolving around the topic of study. The teachers were actively encouraging, instructing, and even playing with the kids. We were sold and excitedly enrolled our kids. Fast forward several years, and we could not be any happier with the experience. Our children are excited for school each day. They are encouraged to pursue their own interests, advance at their own pace, and are free to explore new topics. We, as parents, love to see how animated they are about a particular field trip coming up, an exciting science experiment, or a musical concert performance they have helped plan. The small class sizes allow a perfect balance of structure and freedom. The teachers are engaged and encouraging, the administration is approachable and clearly invested in our children's education and development, not just as students, but as good people, friends and members of our community. We cannot say enough good things about this school. We absolutely love it and feel very blessed to have our children there!

We moved from Europe to the Cincinnati area in 2014. Both my children are at The Academy, in 4th & 8th grade. As an educator myself, I had high expectations of a private school which would provide an individualized, caring environment for my children. We have two childrent at MIM and have absolutely loved it since transfering from another school. One of the things we like best about the school is that everyone (the faculty) seem to truly be happy and love what they do. They seem to really care about the children, their well-being and their growth. We would recommend Minds in Motion to any parent who is looking for an innovative, safe and caring atmosphere and alternative to public schools.

We have three kids at this school and have been here for 5 years now. We could not be more pleased with how well received our family has been and how great & unique the educational experience has been. The projects, style of presenting the material, the small class sizes, the technology, and most of all the incredible teachers has engaged and excited our children in their learning path. We looked at other private schools when we decided to switch our kids from public school and knew right away that they offered what we wanted in terms of learning experiences and environment. I encourage you to take a look at our school, talk to our parents there, have your child shadow there.....you will be pleased.

I agree with the comments made on May 2, 2014- "the ownership lacks caring of the children and it is all about the show. Communication and professionalism is lacking too." I was extremely disappointed with our experience, particularly with leadership. And they will not hesitate to remove your child from the school at their discretion, so know that will always be a possibility. I experienced a complete lack of empathy from the director, lack of communication from the staff and was completely mislead by the information they provide regarding MIM on their website- I believe it to be more strategic marketing than anything else. Do NOT assume it will apply to your child. Also, if your child has any sort of lingering difficulties or challenges, whether it be academic or personally based, MIM is 99% likely NOT a good fit, so be warned.

My children graduated from The Academy and now attend a public high school and were extremely prepared for the next step in their academic journey. They were accepted into the Honors English program and algebra and Spanish are truly refresher courses as they covered this material in 8th grade. Some of the unique aspects of an Academy education, spotlight & CBI s had the greatest impact on their development, self esteem and self confidence. Spotlight afforded them the opportunity as a class and as an individual to work on their presentation skills in front of their peers and teachers. The CBI (Community Based Instruction- field trips, guest speakers & community service) allowed them to put their knowledge into real world use. These are activities that take the learning beyond the classroom and prepare them for success in future education and their career. The Academy was truly a family environment that nurtured their curiosity, challenged them to perform and encouraged critical thinking. I am grateful for the foundation it provided them.

After a couple of years going to the preschool and kindergarden, I've found the school to be more for show (trying to impress parents, parties, fundraisers, etc) than substance (phoenics, reading, actual early childhood development instruction). The teachers are MIM all said that my son was well above average, but then in first grade I was told that he was behind in reading and some other areas. The MIM teachers and staff just want to please parents and kids and keep everyone happy, but aren't as interested in any real teaching. If you do decide to go, ask them how they evaluate a child's progress, do they meed the Ohio Early Childhood Development standards, what type of curriculum they use, standardized tests, etc... Yes, if you go there they may come home every day with a fun craft or project to show you and yes the teachers will say that your child is well above average, but once they start a "real" school, then you'll find out how much time and money you wasted at MIM. It was put in Springboro because it's a wealthy area and it caters to rich families wanting an "exclusive" feeling...again...all show, little substance.

This is my son's second year at the school. I have been amazed with the level of education he is receiving. The teachers are friendly and do a great job. My son goes to school everyday with a smile on his face anxious to see what he will be learning on that day. The small class sizes are a definite plus to this school.

This is our second year at MIM and we are constantly impressed by the outstanding committment the teachers and administrators have to the success of our child. We love the low student to teacher ratio and definitely recommend this school to anyone looking for education above the status quo.
