Uninterested teachers. No communication. Teachers that care are in the severe minority.

The "zero tolerance policy" is a joke. There are kids constantly fighting and bullying. It is not uncommon to see kids being put into the back of cop cars at EMS. The school does not effectively support bullying victims or their families. Office staff often tells children trying to report bullying to "just go back to class".

No homework coming home. No communication from the teachers.

I would rate EMS in the negatives if I could. If you're moving to Lawton and have a middle school child or will soon do yourself a favor and DO NOT send them to Eisenhower Middle School.

Teachers and administration are very helpful and quick to resolve issues. I am pleased with my experiences at EMS.

EMS is a warm and friendly place. The faculty seem to go out of their way to make others feel welcome and to lend a helping hand.

Posted: February 23, 2016

I have observed some of the teachers take the time to sit down one on one with a student and explain a problem until the student reaches a full understanding.

Posted: February 18, 2016

Teachers, administrators, and support staff care about the students. They are user friendly and work hard to provide requested help.

Posted: February 18, 2016

Teachers try to address the individual child's needs. They are knowledgeable in their subject area.

Posted: February 18, 2016

Some students have no help at home. It is hard for them to compete with students with lots of help at home.

Seventh graders have a class that addresses life skills. Teachers model honesty, integrity, and fairness.

I would say this school has fairly good academics. The kids here are what I think most kids are like at most public schools. Of course there are trouble makers, but a lot of people here really do care about their grades. There are some people that were given classes above their grade when they asked, so if you think that you only need one or two classes that are at your grade level, then I'm sure that can be arranged. All of the teachers are good at what they do. I would say that it's only lacking in science. I've gone here for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade, and I wasn't too impressed with my science classes. It might've been for lack of equipment, or maybe the teachers that I got specifically, but nonetheless I was kinda disappointed. They've got a few clubs that you can join, the academic team does pretty good at competitions and stuff. I still wish I was going to a different school though. I feel like if I had gone to a better school I would have been challenged more and I would be more ahead in my education.

So far the experience at this school is appalling. The administrators are ignorant to current issues and ignore bullying cases. When speaking with the current principal about a bullying case which ended in the older child attacking the younger child blocking him in the bathroom and knocking the child's teeth out, the principal simply blew it off and spoke as though it was a mutual fight. It is disgusting how some individuals choose ignorance over change.

I took my son, who was ranked number three in his class, out of this school. He was bullied daily and nothing was done about it. They failed to offer him any challenging work, and in order for him to take an appropriate math class, he had to walk over to the high school, have lunch by himself, and to top it off he was yelled at for coming back late when he couldn't get in the locked building after his math class. This place is a disease.

My daughter is a current student there and has been non-stop bullied and nothing has been done. She is not really learning much and when she doesn't understand something she is told to "figure it out". What is the teacher there for then if not to show/instruct the student what to do?

Loved this middle school for both of my kids! I really like that the grades are kept separate from each other and they are big into team teaching. I always felt that I could contact the teacher/principals if ever there was a problem. My kids learned a lot at Eisenhower!

My son went to Eisenhower and had a very good experience there. It was a great school with teachers who cared, and a principal who went out of his way to help out whenever needed. I would recommend this middle school to any newcomers to our city. They are very military minded and try hard to help new students feel welcome!
