This is our 2nd year here and I literally HATE this school. I get anxiety around my kids going to this school. Dismissal is a nightmare. They call on favorites and the rest get to go last. Standing right in front of the teacher dismissing and she will literally avoid asking you. Dismissal time is not even that anymore, it's 5 minutes later because of the "new dismissal". We're getting the consequences for some parents that thought they could take random kids home, from what I was told.

I have been to MANY different schools in my life (bare minimum 13). ALL OF THEM are/were way more advanced than these and that was in the 2000s. This school is just horrible. If you can send your children somewhere else, do that.

They do not have very much for children to do such as sports. The others that go here are mostly locals (a few from military). The locals are just that, lawtonians.

The community is small. The trash around this small city is way worse than most other larger cities. The amount you pay in taxes, both local and state, and the monopolies the utility companies have, makes the cost of living here the same or more than other cities, but the pay is way lower unless you work at Goodyear or the military. They are constantly increasing the water bills and taxes in the city because they can. The people outside of Lawton have to shop in Lawton too. I would suggest driving to Wichita Falls, TX to shop. You pay way less in taxes. Id honestly suggest living in Texas if you can. You can't drive in Lawton without seeing trash, homeless, and cars that are duck-taped or tied together with straps. Stuff to do in lawton? Lol, movie theater, chuck e cheese, the great plains museum, and parks. The best thing here is the mountains and medicine park.

My kids HATE this school. They BEG me to not have to go.

Then the hospitals here suck! My son had an issue that was time sensitive and SWM didn't have an ultrasound tech and CCMH REFUSED his care. They said the earliest flight to OU Med would take a min. of hours to get to him and no ambulance that could take him! I deff didn't mind taking him myself and thankfully turned out to be nothing but God forbid that happens to someone that truly needs those services promptly because it could turn very bad. The dr in ER even said "this is unacceptable and I can't beleive I am saying this".

This is mostly based on just one year in the school with one teacher, but the experience was wholly negative. There are state laws in place concerning children with learning disabilities but my child was treated in such a manner that he entered Eisenhower as an A-B honor roll student for three years running and ended up almost failing this year. Rules were put into place to help my child succeed but my child's teacher seemed to feel they were a burden. There was even a day that I was at the school and saw her take away a child's "chair privileges," forcing them to kneel at their desk or sit on the floor behind their desk for the rest of the day (3 plus hours), which really hurts a child with learning disabilities focus on what is being taught and puts a target on them for bullies who look for kids who are different. It also doesn't help that we filed for his IEP in September and it wasn't put into effect until the following April -- when it is supposed to be completed within 60 days. When there were problems, the counselor and principle were there to talk and set up meetings but nothing was done to speed up the process and nothing was ever done about how the teacher treated my child -- or other kids in the class, based on my experience the day I was there observing. I would never, ever, want another parent's child to be in that atmosphere and can't recommend this school at all to anyone whose child has special needs.

It was a great start to my future. I am now an accomplished physician, and the balanced education I received from Ike Elem got me started. I have to admit, I had some excellent teachers (Howard, Karen) and some horrible ones at Ike, but they rounded my early life experiences...

The faculty has always carried themselves to be good examples and when conclict arises it isnt simply brushed off but they try to get to the bottom/root of the problem and handle it fairly

All 3 of my boys have gone there, currently 1 has moved up to middle school and now only 2 remain. Their teachers are caring and will go out of their way to try to help the children. They have teachers Aides in most if not all the classes, this gives the students an additional person to call on if they are having issues on something. In my experience the people there, not just the teachers will go that extra mile to ensure it to be a safe and educational experience. One of my boys had a fight and did not get on the bus, or so the principal was told. Anyhow she drove to our neighborhood and helped look for him until we recieved word that he had gotten to school. Above & beyond.

I have two boys that go there. The faculty is great and care about your childs education. The PTA and booster clubs try to get the kids and parents involved in extra activities.

My son started his kindergarten year at Eisenhower last year! His teacher set an example that all teachers should want to follow. She made me feel completely comfortable with leaving my child in the care of someone other than myself. Her love for her students is absolutely amazing and this year is no different. Not only are the teachers amazing, but the staff there is also wonderful. They are always helpful!

I was very nervous to send both my daughters here. But I love the teachers and staff they are the friendliest and care so much about your children and their education. Being to have contact with you child's teacher when you want I thinks it's amazing. ! Keep up the good work Eisenhower.

We absolutely love Eisenhower Elementary School. I have had the pleasure of sending two of my children here. The staff is wonderful and caring. The teachers are amazing and keep us up to date with my children's progress & daily classroom behavior. I absolutely love the atmosphere here and it truly feels like family! Thank you Eisenhower for an unforgettable experience.

The school staff treats your children like they are their very own. They have a great in school tutoring for the kids and I'm truly grateful that they take teaching my children seriously.

The staff is a fabulous family! The children and their successful learning is the main focus of everyone in the school. They genuinely show an interest and love for your children unconditionally.

We were nervous about sending our kids to Eisenhower because of the low rating. In reality, we have been really happy with the school. It has gone though a lot of changes this past year and it shows. What I have really learned here, is no school is perfect, no teacher is perfect and no student is perfect. BUT when there is parental involvement and teacher communication things are great. Not Perfect, but great.

This school has come a long way. The Rating is NOT indicative of the level of education and involvement that this school provides. My son has attended grades Kindergarten through 2nd grade and we are sad to know we are moving. We have had wonderful, caring teachers and staff who took a special interest in my child as they seem to in all others. From the ladies in the office knowing each child by name, the teachers being involved to ensure success of each child, to the nursing staff that took care of my child. We are really going to miss this school.

This school had undergone a lot of changes for this school year. I really appreciate that it is a small school, making it easy to get to know everyone. I truly get the sense that the principal, teachers, and other staff want the best for the children. As with any school, there is always room for improvement. Most importantly what I have seen is the desire to improve. I can say as a new family in this community and to this school, Eisenhower's doors are always open to you as a parent. Anyone can be as involved as they choose to be. I'm looking forward to being a part of progress and success in my children's school.

Within the first few weeks of moving here I noticed my daughter was actually falling behind even though what they were teaching in her first grade class what she had already done in kindergarten. I had asked the teacher for a conference and was told she couldn't set up an appointment, I would have to just stop by and if she had time we could do it then. Which every time I did she was too busy. Then 3 months later a notice comes out stating we would now need to make appointments through the office. Even though i knew my daughter was falling behind the teacher did not once tell me. I finally got a "progress report" and this is where the teacher finally said she wasn't up to par in a few areas. My daughter is doing great now. Bottom line, I had to be my daughters teacher. What took an entire week for the teacher to "teach" and my daughter to "sort of learn" I accomplish now in one hours time and she is getting all 100%s. There are MANY reviews on here saying how good this school is, but the truth is, if you stand outside and wait for your child at the end of the day, you end up talking to other parents. NEVER has a single one had ANYTHING positive to say about this school.
