My children at the school have been treated poorly. I would justify it, thinking the whole COVID-19 was why the school was disorganized.
However, the office ladies are rude, and I’m a parent who I know never gave them any trouble; nonetheless, they don't want family engagement.
First, when no family engagement is allowed, that throws me off. What are you hiding? Perhaps the way you treat the kids.

My complaint is not towards the teachers. My children had mostly great teachers. It’s for the office staff. They seem bitter and impatient.
I give a three-star review because I have worked at a different elementary school, because it’s a low-income area, things are not as expected, but a lot has to do with the top.

Public schools in Oklahoma are the worst.

Please, don't allow them to treat your children as such. You are EXACTLY on point with your comments! There is power in numbers. I had the same complaints and problems.
I took my issues to LPS boardm Unfortunately, it fell on deaf ears. This type of behavior CANNOT BE ALLOW TO CONTINUE! It hurts and damages the children in such a negative way.
If you are not part of their click you children will be treated trouble.
It's a ashame there is little to NO support for parents. A lot if the shenanigans are covered up not being addressed.
I have been told that if teachers/staff complain that they are reprimanded for going against what is RIGHT.
If you see something say something.
Don't allow them to hurt your mental state. Children should be treated with dignity and respect!
Schools have changed so much!
It's a politics and favors.
The school systems hold children to such high standards when they do wrong, NEVERTHELESS who's holding these GROWN ADULTS accountable for their petty negative actions against students?
Unfortunately, there is NO to little standards being set forth for teachers, overseers in higher positions, principals, etc. that are able to change and make a difference for ALL students.
Please continue to share and speak out for YOUR CHILD!

I feel like I made one complaint about a teacher saying something that really hurt my daughters feelings and ever since then my daughter has been in trouble everyday. It never was like this before.
It makes me so sad bc I heard so many good things but they more Im telling my store
The more people have similar stories about the teachers being very clique. My daughter has a new teacher and says very mean. She cries not wanting to go to school. I never have behavioral problems with my daughter so none of this is adding up. I’m so scared to go to the principal bc I worry that it will only make it worse for my child. I feel at such a loss.

I wish that there were negative stars I could give about this school my family has been at this school for over 20 years and it has seemed to go down hill every year, their lack of leadership and how they care for the kids at this school is appalling, from how they treat bipoc children to how they handle Covid 19, has been the worst experience of our lives, the school system would rather fill a sit then tell people that teacher and or children have Covid, there are some exceptional teachers here, but they are few and far between, it seems the school would rather gossip about the kids/parents then do the job they are intended to do. They care not for the safety of the children and if you say something about anything they will block and delete you from any and all social media or school app just to shut you up. They care more about their popularity with each other then making sure the school is enjoyable for the children, they seem to only favor kid from family they grow with and treat new people coming in like trash. They don’t address any concerns that you have and will even cuss at you on the phone if you have any real problems. I know that this post will probably come with some retaliation because instead of fixing the toxic work environment between parents and staff they would rather take it out on your children. So if you are looking for a school in Lawton please look in to cache school system or Bishop, I have many story’s of racism and favoritism about this school and I hope another family doesn’t have to go through what my family has had to endure for the last couple of years. I hope that one day the school will learn to put their students best interest and learning before anything eles.

Woodland Hills provides a quality educational setting with high expectations for students. The staff is very friendly and caring. It is evident In all they that they care for their students.

Children that are family to the staff get treated with priority. I've seen so many times one of "chosen" will bully a child after school, run home and be at school the next day like nothing happened. They're teaching kids that "it's who you know. Not what you know." Great job woodland hills! Ruining the youth

Andrea Hardzog is a complete waste of staff position. Students are not allowed to speak their side of any situation, or speak up about being bullied. They are told to not tell. The children deserve to know they're protected.

There is no respect for the students there unless you are one of the so called favorites. Everyone else falls between the cracks. If the students speak up about something wrong that happened or make a report they tell them to get over it, stop tattling, or there’s nothing they can do about it.

They do not follow the IEPs/504s that are written, they don’t familiarize everyone dealing with the student on what is in them, and always have an excuse as to why it wasn’t followed.

When a situation is reported they do nothing about it. It’s a slap on the wrist when they do. They don’t want their reputation as the model school to go down so they try to brush things under the rug and pretend things didn’t happen whether than face them. I have seen this with many many students.

There are some great teachers but many teachers who do not follow the guidelines and are not appropriately trained. They do not report incidents when they happen and try to brush them under the rug.

It was one of the best schools we attended years ago but has tremendously gone down hill since they received a new principle.

My children absolutely love this school! We have had several family members grow up here and now they are having the same wonderful experience. The staff is very involved in making things fun for the kids, building them up and rewarding them for their hard work! The PTA has done a wonderful job at providing lots of family nights to get involved with the school and have fun too!

My children have attended this school for 6 years now. The amount of support the teachers give and time they put into my children is amazing. If you have any problems the administration is very approachable. So many parent volunteers, it's like a family community.

Woodland Hills is a great school that has provided many opportunities for my daughter to grow as a student and individual. The amount of support she receives from the staff is outstanding. There are many fun events for students to take part in, which provide for a well-rounded school experience.

I LOVE Woodland Hills! It is a family! They are a Model School and the values they teach are displayed every day by the way the students and teachers act and speak. Very impressive. Our teachers are excellent, but go above and beyond and care about each individual student! This school has many "extras" like Stem club and family nights, bingo nights, Super Kids fun day, science fair, talent shows, showcase etc. Our PE Teacher is a favorite among the students and he keeps them moving! Our music teacher is outstanding! This year alone she created a Kindergarten Christmas musical, a 3rd grade choir that performed at the Baron's hockey game, and 4th grade is going to Showcase! They participate in the OKC marathon and the Spirit of Survival. The PTA is top notch and the Booster Club keeps all the wonderful sports in order! It's the whole package of superb education, amazing principal, awesome teachers, phenomenal counselor, involved parents etc. There are many experiences for the children. My kids are valued and respected by everyone in the school as am I! Woodland Hills is WONDERFUL!

Woodland Hills is a great place to go to school. My children are reaching all their academic goals. There teachers are so supportive and provide a warm, loving teaching environment. The school does not have title eleven extra funding but finds different fun ways to raise money for the essential things the school needs. When we transferred to Lawton, OK, Woodland Hills so was welcoming to our kids and it has been a wonderful experience.

Woodland Hills has been a great school for my children. We move quite a bit and go through a lot of different schools. We will be sad when we have to leave Woodland Hills because all of the teachers are very friendly and caring. The knowledge my kids have received at Woodland Hills is well worth my drive every morning. The before and after school care provided is a plus for me when ever an emergency pops up I know that my kid will be excited because of all the fun they have after school!

Woodland Hills is a school full of caring people who support children and their parents. The school does not receive any Title 1 funding and the district is always running under budget. Teachers and staff are not given the resources they need to properly educate their students. Thankfully, the PTA, the principal, community support, and many others give their time, money, resources, and more to the school. My child has excelled while at Woodland Hills. The best thing about this school is the ability to be involved. Join booster club, PTA, volunteer in the library, coach a sport, attend evening programs- you choose the level of involvement. The more you are involved the more time you get to spend with your child. Go Woodsmen!

I have 3 grandsons attending WHS. I visit often to volunteer, attend school assemblies, classroom and PTA events. At the student led assemblies I love seeing the students achievements recognized and their celebration of each other! Singing, history, civics and positive behavior lessons are incorporated in the assembly. WHS is welcoming and has a great, positive environment. It sets high academic standards for all to achieve and grow! All our LPS schools need to provide better funds and focus to meet gifted students needs including individual IEP's. So happy my grandsons attend WHS!!

This school is the best! The teachers work together to help students succeed! Parent involvement is awesome and our PTA is superior! Our students become leaders in their learning and we use the 7 Habits of highly effective people and Great Expectations models of learning. Woodland Hills is a great place to learn and grow!

Woodland Hills does have a new principal & councilor. I would still like to see updates to the web site to keep parents informed. They will no longer have an Art teacher, but they will have a new computer teacher. There are so many changes to the entire Lawton Public School system, it will be interesting to see how things go for this year.

This year will be so exciting we have a new principal who is really involved and really cares about each student. A lot of teachers have retired and new ones have replaced them! The school uniforms have been moved to Fridays which all the kids wanted. This school is not title 1 which means they arent just given tons of money so we have to have fundraisers. Parents get involved if you want to see a change for the positive!

The perception is this school is one of the best in Lawton, my daughter has been there for 4 years and as a school they have failed. I don't understand how a strait A student can be tested on a national level and the test show she's below grade level. I'm very much aware that Oklahoma is rated at the very end nationally, but this is absolutely ridiculous. As far as the teachers are concerned, I have only had the privilege of knowing one teacher (out of the 4 yrs) who I felt was teaching because it was a passion and not just a pay check. I'm lucky enough to be military so we'll be leaving in the next month. #ohhappyday

This school is surrounded by money, they talk about nothing but money, and send flyers home at least twice a week asking for money. I raise my children to be humble and appreciative and this type of selfish environment gives me the creeps. They have the children chant these codes of ethics like some sort of brain-washed child, drone army... They preach anti-bullying yet there have been several incidents when my child was not supervised and was bullied, on a daily basis. When I asked him why he did not tell the teacher he explained to me that the children had him cornered and he was unable to get to a teacher fast enough before they yanked him away. Where is the faculty? My daughter has been sent to the office several times and I was never informed. How am I to fix these situations if I know nothing about them, simply because the school wants to save face? It strives for excellence yet this CogAT program it expects these children (and parents) to slave over for hours after school is just exhausting. What happened to the children coming first and incorporating their learning styles? The constant top rating this school has strived to achieve at the mercy of these young students is sad

Not impressed at all. I enorolled my daughter here because I purchased a house in the surrounding neighborhood. Her teacher told me she would contact me the minute my daughter started slipping in class and said nothing until the conference and then decided to advise me of the parent portal. She is singled out and bullied and teacher does nothing. Teacher blames her for all wrong doings in class without questioning other kids' motives. This is supposed to be one of the best schools with the best teachers but to be honest, Eisenhower was better and more consentious about their pupils.
