This is school is not what you think it is AT ALL!! If you’re looking for diversity you won’t find that here as a former student myself all the teachers are white! Next if you have a young daughter the female teachers are bound to be jealous of her and the male teachers will sexualize her that’s all I can say. As for the education it’s fairly okay but it is so limited; in my opinion there is so much more subjects I could be learning but am not because of the curriculum but that’s a whole different situation. If you’re transferring your child who isn’t that good at social interactions/ making friends don’t choose Park View. Each year students in the same grade are split up into different teams and the chance that your child will be in the same team as their friends next year is very low, meaning your child is going to have to restart the whole friendship making process. Now more on the teachers, many of the female teachers are rude and obviously jealous of female students. Instead of creating a safe space for these girls they make them uncomfortable in their own skin. Making comments about their body, clothing style etc… is not the role of a teacher or anyone in general. I know a teacher who made it her sworn duty to protect every single male student and neglect the female students. I’m not exaggerating in every class period there was a boy sitting next to her desk at all times and the boys just so happened to be relatively popular. I’m not trying to dictate what school you should send your child too but from my experience if you’re looking for a good school Park View is not it.

Very disappointed with Park view. There’s no discipline for Bullies at all!!! It’s disgusting. They call on the wrong children when the bullying gets done. My child was unable to purchase a ticket for the 1st school dance of the year. Being my child’s first year in the school I feel as though they should have let them purchase the ticket. And superintendent doesn’t do anything about it she just sides with her staff. I work hard to resign In Cranston so my children can go to Cranston schools as myself and my siblings did but I have a whole different outlook on that now. Cranston public schools are not what they used to be and teachers staff aren’t what they used to be. Very disappointed!

As a current 8th grader at this school, I'm so happy I'm leaving here this year. This school is so awful but some people here are good. The students bully a lot with their friends behind others backs and I hear it in class. Sometimes the things we do in class are boring and I really can't focus and learn (specifically talking about science). Most kids also follow up in others bad behavior which makes this school a building full of bullying. I don't think anyone talks about me but I don't know that unless my friends hear. The teachers are very kind and they actually care. If you ask them how to get your grade up they will try their best to help you. I don't recommend the guidance counselors since they aren't really helpful with problems except grades. You tell them about a mental problem and they'll just say "I'm sorry to hear that," and will send you back to class. I also don't think this school is quite safe. A month ago we got a shooting threat and kids were scared for their lives. And then once the school figured it out, they said "safety is our top priority," but they just expect kids to come back with that? I really wish I can leave this school but I still have months before I graduate. Hopefully I can get out of cranston overall when that happens.

This school is horrible. The environment and students behavior is bad and affect other good students.
Safety is nothing there. One day they released my son to a stranger person just because they assumed that this person speaks English as a second language like me. My son called me and asked" who this lady you sent to pick me up?" I had to leave work early this day and run to school. They apologized and told me safety is our first priority LOL!
Education is not important there. No work from home and when they ask their teacher to repeat something, most of them refuse and yell at them.
Behavior is very bad and affect kids. Unfortunately my son is kind of the followers kids and he is acting like the bad ones now. I am doing my best to fix what this school destroyed in my son.
Nothing there called family engagement. When I call the student counselor to ask for help, she call me after 2 days with careless attitude.

If I could give more than 100* I would.we were transferred from another middle school due to horrible sped experience. park view has a very strong support network. Even in the same district, their approach is so much more understanding. I have never met a teacher that let me feel my sped kid is hopeless like the other school did. The communication between parents and school is as transparent and respectful as it can be. Very grateful for everyone.

Teachers are very involved with students in ways that get the students to be engaged in learning.

PVMS is a great experience for most students, but parents of those students who need special services should do research

"It's not like when you were in school dad...." is what my son tells me. I guess that's good. We've not had any issues with bullying and it's something I quiz my kids on regularly

We've been really happy with my son's experience at PVMS. The transition from elementary was easy for him and it was awesome to watch him grow socially and academically. As with most things in life, you get out what you put in, so everyone's experience will be different

My son has time to finish all homework - most work is encouraged to be performed at school. It's not easy, but nor is it overwhelming

Posted: July 6, 2019

Generally my son has a good experience with teachers. Music has been particularly inspiring for him

Strong communication from the leadership to parents from what I can tell. Open houses were good experiences for parents of incoming students. There is good school spirit

Park View has a very generous and effective team of administrators and instructors. In my experience, they respect parents, students, and the journey that is the middle school experience--

The school is amazing! Even though there aren't sports, they have tons and tons of in-school and after-school activities like basketball games, volleyball tournaments, may madness, lots of dances etc,. Huge track, baseball field, tennis court, basketball court and a park! Amazing.
