Mold infestation and horrible teaching methods I've gotten sick multiple times from going to this school i wouldn't recommend sending your kids here if you care about they're learning, safety, and health.

One of the worst schools Ive ever been too. Mean children, poor teaching (most classes I ended up having to teach myself). Fights are constantly happening, Theyre intruder lock downs at least twice every four weeks. Based on that review Id hope you not send to your child to bates middle school.

Ive been a student at this school it was really terrible,to much fights and drama. When bullies mess with people and the people who are getting bullied dont get defended for it. Kids are really mean and are bad

Bates is great! It is a STEAM Project Based Learning school. The teachers work very hard to provide excellent learning opportunities to students. There are very few to no discipline issues. Any issues that do arise are taken care of immediately and fairly by the administration.

The teachers at this school are highly trained and qualified. They have a very diverse staff which includes many retired military.

This is an unsafe and unproductive school. It is ranked 243 of 259 middle schools in SC. Avoid if possible.

Well, homework is questionable. I do know my boys get/got grades for it. They are athletes and pretty much attend study hall 3/4 of the year, so it was done prior to getting home. I appreciate the study hall time for athletes.

BMS has two GREAT programs Young Women of Standard (I think is the name) ran by the guidance counselor and Bates Men of Purpose ran by one of the football coaches. Both my sons and nephew have been apart of the young men's club. Honesty, integrity and fairness are in their pledge and evident in the activities they have done.

My first experience with BMS was the 2013-2014 school year. We moved here by means of the military. The first six months were a bit hard, but once I got more involved and expressed my thoughts concerning my children at the school, I saw a difference and felt more comfortable with my children being here. Most of the teachers who I have felt with have a great parent teacher working relationship when problems or concerns come up. This school does so many fun activities with the students. They welcome and encourage parent involvement! There is so much I could say. This will be our last school year with them.
