Location: Fort Jackson is the largest and most active Initial Entry training Center in the U.S. Army. Located in Columbia, SC, Fort Jackson is home to the U.S. Army Training Center, NCO Academy, Soldier Support Institute, Army Chaplain School and the National Center for Credibility Assessment.

Schools: Two elementary schools on post run by DDESS for student's ages 4 through 6th grade. 7th and 8th grade students living on post will attend Dent Middle School, phone: 803-699-2750. On-post high school students will attend Richland Northeast, phone: 803-699-2800.
The majority of military families living off-post are in areas served by Richland District 1 or Richland District 2.

Housing: Privatized housing managed by Balfour Beatty Communities, 850 family homes in eight neighborhoods. Two, 3 and 4 bedroom homes available for all ranks, retirees, and civilians. Call 803-738-8275 or Family Housing Office website. The Housing Services Office (HSO) is your housing community advocate and should be your first point of contact for housing, regardless of where you decide to live. You can benefit from the services that the HSO provides.
