I am an 8th grade student at Leslie Stover Middle School, and for the sake of others, Here is my experience attending this school: I will be honest, Ive had the worst years here. There are many faculty members who are harsh and have been manipulative at times. There have been multiple incidents where students and teachers were treated unfairly, so please consider this before sending your child here.
I'll start by saying the school Nurses often dont follow the standard routine when certian symptoms are mentioned. A student once came complaining about a headache and other factors of a possible concussion, and they were sent back to class with an ice pack. Not to mention that students may only be sent home if they have a high fever or have
Second, when we (the student body) were to take the annual survey on our experience in the school, the assistant principal and other staff pulled individual homeroom classes to "talk" to them about how we need to get our rating up. Not only was the conversation they had with us illegal as they were telling us what we needed to rate them, but it was highly inaccurate.
Thirdly, the students who attend desperately need more discipline. Teachers are constantly letting students get away with so much and are picking and choosing favorites, this has caused many injuries and incidents that have resulted in violence, doxxing, bullying, and more.
Fouthly, I'll say in my experience I have not felt safe at this school at all, I thought being nervous about entering a school every morning was just normal, but it shouldn't be. There have been multiple accounts of weapon threats, actual weapons, and alcohol in the school.
Finally, I will say from experience, the school lunches are not sustainable for us as students. We are 11-14 year old kids with growing bodies, the quantity and quality of food we are served is not good. I have found hairs in my food and many of my peers have complained of mold or feeling sick after eating school food. To add, im often very hungry after eating a school lunch because of the lack of food I am served. Overall, from my experience this school needs a serious reworking of both its methods, rules, and staff. Our principle has repeatedly attempted to get perfectly good staff fired, and make their work lives more difficult. I am unaware of who all this review might reach, but I sincerely hope it's someone, or enough people, to make a change or at least look into the matter, thank you.

This school is beyond terrible, the administration gives referrals for ridiculous reasons, the school lunches chicken sandwich made children nauseous and some threw up but once other kids reported it to the nurses office, nurses told the students to go back to class because they weren't
"feverish", there shouldn't be a school where only the janitors can do their job right. The other reviewers on this website also look like they've had no fun walking into this lazy half done school. Administration has no remorse for the children in this school. Teachers yell at students and make them feel embarrassed, especially the gym teachers. Terrible, HORRIBLE school, lems is more recommended, 1 star.

I have not had a great experience anytime I was at the school. Thank god after this year I never have to step foot in the school again

the athletics are god the school is dirty and the teachers are kind of nice but not the best the food is below average but its a fun learning envrionment

I had nothing but problems from the school since day 1. The teachers completely disregarded my child's IEP. Repeative office referrals for ridiculous things. We never can we have clear communication. There is absolutely too much "he said, she said". If possible just go to a different school Don't waste your time. Until the school is better about applying diversity and equality, they will continue to have issues.

My experience at this school was horrible, I only had one good teacher the whole year the others didnt really seem to care about there students. I was bullied and harassed multiple times, when I reported it to the principle he didnt seem to care an never addressed it.

As a former student of Stover Middle School, I have nothing good to say about the place. The sanitation in the school is subpar, with roach carcasses clearly visible in ceiling lights, and the competency of the staff is rather poor.
Teachers are generally either disinterested or negative about their job, with a few star exceptions, and they largely rely on control tactics to keep their students orderly. They tend to become very frustrated and resort to yelling incessantly at their students, often adopting unsavory attitudes toward them. My sincerest hope is that the few good teachers here find new jobs in better schools.

Many of the teachers are very rude or crass. Some teachers would curse directly at students, and many seemed disinterested or negative about their job. Their usual approach to getting things done was to simply scream at the students.

The school is more focused on controlling students through arbitrary rules (such as tucking in shirts and seating boys and girls on opposite sides of lunch tables) than it is in actually developing true character.

We love this school. Our three children all attended and learned much with the careful attention of several teachers. Administration was quick to assist if any issues ever arose. Highly recommended Stover.
