I studied at RBHS for only four months, but it was enough for me to realize that I would have loved to graduate there if I could. Unfortunately, my parents decided to move, but the best years of my high school were at that school. I cant really describe in a text like this how amazing it was. The teachers are great and really help you, the counselors truly want to support you, and while people may seem a bit uninterested in making friends with you at first, after some time they open up. No one ever treated me badly there. Trust this school with your children, they are the best.

this school sucks for getting help with classes and the work can be overwhelming with little to no time to breathe. my chemistry class was garbage as we had 6 teachers and one of them was teaching us improperly, causing most of the class to fail when the finals came. time and schedules are probably the worst here as the class placements do not work well with each other causing more problems than solutions it is seriously a huge problem as it's just unbearable to go from PE to chemistry and expect us to be on our A game. The teachers are either deaf or rude with very strict rules causing many to complain. my personal most hated class which many agree is web design, it is such a WASTE of time and provides little to no useful skills while requiring you to continue to pay attention every second there or else you will be caught behind and the books are outdated as some of the code in it is faulty so if you need to redo or fix work and you put that code in it will causing it to not work and even break the website.

Amazing school. There is so many opportunities to become your own person. We have ILT which allows us to work on assignments outside of class while still in a school setting. We can meet with teachers, tutors, and counselors by simply sending an email and visiting during matching ILT. The schedule is very college like VS. other schools that use block schedule (4 1.5 hour classes a day). There is a sense of freedom and ability to be yourself and do as you please with your time. Many people say their kids just mess around and goof off during ILT, they should hold their kids accountable for that. Its not the schools responsibility to babysit the kids, we are high-schoolers growing up. College isn't handholding style, this school prepares students for college and more better than any school in all of SC. Without a doubt, I would highly recommend this place (Coming from a current senior).

My child entered freshmen year of high school in Honors and AP Classes, being very involved in sports and comes from a stable home life. Within three months after school began, we had a completely different child so don't think, with even the best of circumstances, it cannot happen to your kid. Currently, there is no involvement in extracurricular activities, failing grades, and drug use. When you hear people in the community saying this school is the Pharmacy, you best believe it. It is very easy for the kids that do not fit into the standard quo to fall through the cracks and go toward the "bathroom crowd" where they are accepted. There is no accountability of how ILT is being used, the school administration turns a blind eye to the kids that struggle to fit in with little to no encouragement to join sports, clubs, take advantage of meeting with teachers during ILT and tutoring. (Yes, these things are offered but not encouraged for those that do not seek help). Once kids leave the presence of their parents, parents have no control over what happens inside that school building and once these kids go down this alternative way of getting acceptance, it is very difficult to get them back on track. The school needs more supervision and require mandatory involvement from them. If your kid is: not outgoing, involved in school clubs and activities, without a strong friend group and suffers or behavioral issues, you may want to look at other options for education. There is no one at the school that will advocate for you as a parent, even if you reach out to the school staff. You as the parent know if this school will be a good fit, I suggest you act upon any hesitation you may have if you feel the school is going to be too big for your kid.

This school is biased, and is one-sided in conflict resolution. It allows girls to bully guys and expect guys to just take it. As trouble makers, mean girls are allowed to continue harassment without any consequences. There is no equal treatment here. Its especially difficult when they are targeting kids with ADHD. There is absolutely no support for them from the school.

There are a lot of opportunities at this school no matter what direction in life you want to go. You can learn a trade, take classes to prepare yourself for collage, if you want to join the military they could help you with that too. The biggest compliant i see about the school is the ILT. If your kid knows how to use there time wisely then there is nothing to worry about. The parents that complain are mad there kid cant do what they are supposed to do. Thats why the school is so high in college readiness. Because it teaches kids to be accountable for themselves. There are kids that dont use time wisely. But those kids have opportunities to get tutored during ILT time. All the teachers let you know when they are available for you to come see them. Also, my mom is single with 3 kids. We arent rich obviously. I still got a great education, able to learn a trade at LTC, got study time if i needed it just like every other kid. Its crazy when people say that they are at a disadvantage at this school. You have more opportunities here then a lot of places. We are lucky

As a child that has been to many schools, this one has been honest subpar. As many of the low scores has said this is a pay to excel school. They will turn a blind eye to all the racism and bigotry and constant slur calling of other students because the person doing it has a rich white parent. As everyone knows to get into one of the sports your parent has to know the coach or you have to make "donations" to get on the team. Glad to be in one of the last years here and have some of the only nice teaches. Must say a lot of the teachers do have a passion and are good, but I have to knock off points for the very hard on the student teachers that are there. They will simply blame the kid for any misfortune that happens, as once my teacher lost my test and simply punished me for this. River Bluff High School's main concern is the sports and their image compared to the other schools in the area. Leading to many times I've seen a blind eye twards the students in sports that do bully people. Leading onto learning differences they have a system that says there is only one way to learn and as someone with ADHD the static learning could be more hurtful than helpful. River bluff is also known as the pharmacy by other schools and it's true. There have been many different scandals with drugs and the school has done nothing about it, they once got a speaker that spoke about vaping but the other students were very disrespectful, and also after talked about how it was stupid and how they were going to do what the man said not to. The only plus is the actual school building is very nice and has a very nice staff that cleans. Now in the time of a pandemic, they have really fallen off and do nothing to enforce the mask code. They held a human tunnel recently and I saw about half of the kids with their masks off. This school just simply disappoints me in many ways every day.

River Bluff has excellent opportunities for students in academics, athletics and service opportunities. The administration is dedicated to preparing students for college. The inclusion of ILT during school hours allows students to collaborate, get tutoring, meet with teachers, and extra study time. It is an excellent use of their time on campus, especially for athletes and students with after school jobs.

This school does not manage time correctly. Students have ILT where they sit around and do nothing. That time could be better used for activities or tutoring or something active or academic. I do not like that students can sign themselves out during the school day. The school is responsible for the kids during the school day and they should know where they are and what they are doing at all times. The lack of accountability is concerning. The allow so many second chances and retakes of assignments that they are misleading these kids to how the real world works. The also only teach math with a calculator. My high school had to relearn the simplest of math tasks prior to taking college admission tests since they didnt know how to do them without a calculator. I have found the overall quality of education to be lacking at this school.

Wonderful leadership. Schools principal has national principal of the year distinction. EL learning model is amazing. Offers many AP classes and teachers are awesome! Highly recommended.

Luke Clamp really needs to take a look at ALL teachers. When my child comes home to tell me that her math teacher literally calls on her each time knowing she is already struggling, but makes her THE JOKE OF THE WHOLE CLASS - someone needs to deal with that. If it happens again I will be going to the school board.

This school DOES NOT help children with learning challenges. My daughter is AD/HD and gets picked on constantly because she talks slower and doesn't talk much at all. She has secretly recorded several incidents and has shown them to me.

If you have a "popular" child or if you donate "enough" to the Booster Club teachers will help your child. If you aren't with the "in crowd" then your child will be marked as "less than satisfactory" and encouraged to take "remediation classes"

When my child is punished and electronics are removed they say they CANT do homework without the iPad. Why don't you offer an option to a child that cant use the iPad? They say (RBHS) secure the iPad's but I've heard other children talk about "jailbreaking" them to watch movies during class.

As asian parents, we are very proud to say this school provided enough resources and friendly help for our daughter to achieve her dream. We have extremely positive experience to all teachers, school counselors and administration team. Besides solid academic training, our daughter also learned strong leadership skills. This school is a complete joke. The administration is full of a bunch of biased individuals who only care about the rich, popular, or athletic kids. The bullies are allowed to slip through the cracks and avoid any form of discipline. The administration listens to student complaints and then just prefers to sweep everything under the rug (whatever it takes to make them look better) and takes no action. Many students are unhappy with the way the school is run and how students are treated, but the administration does nothing to help. The administrators pick and choose who to discipline. For example regarding the PDA rules, if a popular couple were to be making out, nothing is done, but if a less popular couple were to just be holding hands or hugging, they would be told to separate. Another example is the student dress codes, they enforce every dress code that a female violates, but they do not enforce the dress code rules on males when they are walking around with their boxers showing. The administration at this school is a complete failure.

In the name of Expeditionary Learning..... way too many hands on projects that are collaborative (meaning group work) are assigned. Which as we all know, group projects are nothing more than a drama scene, as there is always one that does ALL the work while the others do nothing. Story of my childs life staying up till 1 AM doing all the work that the others refuse to do because they know she cares about her grades.
Not to mention the ridiculous creation of CREW, an additional class that is now graded, yet they receive no HS credit for the work put forth into this class. WIth the motto, CREW is family...... I would put myself up for adoption if my family was anything like CREW. It is nothing but another burden on the students and the teachers that equals NOTHING but drama, drama, drama!

The Administration at this school cannot see past their pipe dream mission of being the Leader of Innovation. They want to be #1 is SC, they want all schools to want to be like them, they want to pioneer change..... but in the meantime they refuse to listen to their students and parents when something is NOT working. Stubborn, and thick headed is the administration at this school. Not open to positive change. They want to force feed us that THIS IS THE ONLY WAY education will happen and if you do not like it, you are welcome to seek your options within Virtual Schools, Charter Schools, and homeschools. Parents are withdrawing their students from this school daily!

This school seems like a dream from the outside, but on the inside it is complete chaos. Teachers are stressed out because of the constantly changing protocols and materials needing to be covered. Students are being pushed to complete projects in a class called CREW (and unnecessary class that was first created to be a place to talk and ask wuestions but soon turned into busywork to fill in the "eighth class" that students should have to be considered a full time student). This school needs to get it's act together before it enforces it's ridiculousness on it's students.

The school has many problems. It tries too hard to be different. It cuts most of high school student life out of the picture, such as senior quotes, class presidents, and prom king and queen. The administration is unwavering and unresponsive. It trivializes student wishes such as senior pranks to an almost mundane level. Teachers quality varies, some teachers being uncaring and some being boring altogether, with some gems in the school. The only thing saving it from 1 star is free time for students.

Students at River Bluff feel excited to come to a unique school with new opportunities every day. The teachers and staff members care personally about every student and strive to provide the help needed for success. All River Bluff High School students can agree that we are incredibly lucky to be blessed with a learning environment such as the beautiful RBHS.
