i feel students who experience bullying feel comfortable enough to reach out to teachers or staff. the schoolis going to conduct a workshop to educate students more on the dangers of bullying. By speaking to a number of students, they have shared with me that they experience less or no bullying here compared to their experiences in other schools.

Teachers receive assistance and information regarding students with special needs and accomodations from the Special Ed staff. However, large class sizes and inadequate classroom space makes it difficult at times to adequately address students with learning differences.

Leadership is clear, firm, and attentive. As a teacher, I feel I can speak to the administration about issues.

The school rewards and acknowledges students who perform well academically, but the school also needs to acknowledge and reward those students who show good good citizenship, respect, integrity.

Teachers want to help students individually and collectively- in class, in after school tutoring, at lunch, etc.

There needs to be a more unified front about the importance of completing homework with parents on board.

SCSA is a public school with great vision. We are a public charter school that offers a wide variety of classes, but we are small enough that teachers can develop relationships with students, which is crucial in student learning.

SCSA has that small, private school feel, but they are tuition-free!. The teachers are really friendly and connect well with students one-on-one. I know they care, and my kids are happy there.

We LOVE SCSA! They have provided our kids with a private-school level, STEM-focused education while maintaining their status as a tuition-free institution. Can't believe how blessed we are!

What a gem...sitting right downtown Columbia. A STEM-centric Charter School with top quality professional staff focused on student achievement. A small tuition-free school -- can't go wrong.

The administration at SCSA work have to provide the best teachers possible. The relatively small faculty at SCSA included two teachers with terminal degrees, doctorates, as well as others that were either working on or planning/preparing to work on advanced degrees.

The faculty at SCSA are very friendly and get along with each other. The same can be said of the relationship between the faculty, staff, and administration. They all worked very hard to provide the students at SCSA a safe, friendly, and encouraging environment to learn.

SCSA has one of the strongest Professional Development programs in the city. We pride ourselves in recruiting the best teachers possible and giving them the tools they need to be successful.

Teachers use homework as a supplemental aid to instruction. Teachers are encouraged to balance homework allotments with student needs. SCSA also has an after school homework center for students to focus on their academics.

Our school has an excellent character education program where teachers stress respect and positive behaviors. We are fortunate that modelling positive behaviors is also focused on by our administration.
