I have spent time at other charter schools and the difference has been night and day. I cannot recommend this school enough. I have multiple children here as students, both participating and not participating in athletics. All of my children LOVE being here.
Teachers are supportive, the academic side of things is challenging but not so difficult it becomes frustrating. Teachers avail themselves to students for extra help when needed. Communication with parents is excellent.
The administration is great as well. Responsive to questions and will help find solutions in the event of any issues that arise. Administration knows all my children by name, even those not attending here yet due to not being old enough.
Athletically, while being competitive is the goal, the coaches will build athletes up by using sports as a means to teach hard work, discipline, teamwork and character.

This school has 2 sets of standards. 1 set for athletes and 1 set for regular students. The athletes get away with everything including breaking the dress code, smoking weed on campus, and terrible grades. The teachers pass the athletes right through. But the non-athletes get written up for violating the dress code and get threaten to be expelled for poor grades.

Gray Collegiate Academy is a wonderful school. My Child is learning due to the teachers pushing them to do their best. You get out of it what you put into it. No complaints. Faculty and staff are doing a great job.

All 3 of my children have attended Gray. Nothing negative to say. It is a great school and students get ahead by taking college classes in high school.

My daughter loves GCA and the small student to teacher ratio. She takes honor classes and college level classes. She is an A/B honor roll student and active cheerleader. The GCA staff (teachers, counselors, principle, assistant principle, attendance clerk, etc...) really care about her academic success. GCA is a great choice if you are looking for 1) smaller student population, 2) No bullying, 3) free college courses w/transferrable credits, 4) awesome athletic program, and 5) teachers that care about academic success!

Terrible. Unless you're an athlete you're nobody. Grades don't matter if you can play ball really well.

There is no accountability for grades. Certain students will fail and then their grades "magically" change to passing or teachers are forced to change the grade. If they refuse, they are fired.

Principal will tell you one thing and do another. He'll go back and say he never said whatever. No teacher support. Unless you're an athlete, you're not worth administration's time.

The school makes sure a student doesn't get bullied but some students still gets bullied without the teachers,staff or principal knowing.

Honestly, this school has to be one of the worse schools in South Carolina, and I recommend that most children should not go to this school. A lot of students are already transferring to different schools because of how this school is.

Some teachers only look at the homework to see if the children did it or not, they don't check if its right or wrong. So that child doesn't know if they got it right or wrong, so on tests they fail because they don't understand what they are doing.

This school does not support students with learning differences because its hard for the some children to learn the work and they end up failing a course or a term
