I took the cosmetology program , overall the school itself was not terrible. The classes provided great opportunities, and I would recommend it to anyone interested in pursuing a trade.

One concern I do have is regarding one of the cosmetology instructors. While she did teach me what I needed to learn and helped me succeed academically, her approach could sometimes feel harsh, unnecessary, and at times biased. I don’t want to go into too much detail, but I do believe there should be more consistency in how students are treated.

It was noticeable that her demeanor would change when administration was present, which made the classroom environment feel inconsistent. Personally, this made my experience more difficult than it needed to be.

I also struggled with the overall environment at times, including how some classmates treated me, which, combined with the teaching style, made the experience emotionally challenging. There were days I left feeling discouraged.

That being said, I am still grateful for the education I received and for passing the program. I just hope that moving forward, there can be more awareness of how instructors words and attitudes impact students, because those experiences stay with people.
