bad as the administration is making there own rules up different then what is to district and they are behind other schools in the district as other kids in the district have there laptops and are using them in the classes but this school refuses to let the kids use them because they don't have the cases on the laptops even though the district has gotten extra insurances from the company providing the laptops that if anything happens to them until the covers are in that they will replace them. This school and the policies it dictates to the parents and to the children are coming from the SIC and the PTO of the school and unless you are on the board of either of these too then your voice means nothing at this school.

the children don't have home work. There home work is class work that they didn't complete in class.

the Teachers are being told what to teach and if a student has read books that they read back in the 4th grade but have them for the summer reading assignment for the 6th grade summer reading program then there is issues.

they don't want to address issues as they feel there is no issues and they have a no backpack policy and even if you get a form from your doctor they don't want to honor the form they want to push back and try to find other means for your child to get there items to and from class but they don't want to let your child user a backpack to take all of there materials to and from there locker.

Northside Middle School is lacking when it comes to challenging course work. No foreign languages. All non sport extracurricular activities have been eliminated. No clubs are offered. The no backpack rule for the school is awful. Both of my students have lost numerous books, folders etc. In my opinion the school is on the decline.

My child has learned so much from this school.she has been studying hard ,and always says she does it because not only because she wants an A, but because she loves the teachers there, and that they make everything funner rather than her old school which was dull and boring, and she hardly took effort in. northside middle school rocks!

I currently have a child in the 7th grade at Northside and have had a child at this school for the past 5 years. The principal and assistant principal are responsive and highly involved with the students. I think there is a good atmosphere for learning in the school and good positive parent involvement. That being said, I do think the school could offer more challenging coursework and a wider array of elective subjects, but much of that is due to the school district Northside is in.

This school continues to slip in the ratings. It's a "6" now. I plan to move before I send my next child to this school.
