Leadership Day was absolutely wonderful! The students enjoyed the opportunity to show parents and community members how they have become leaders! Our children have really stepped up to the challenge of being school leaders and being able to articulate that to visitors.

I absolutely love the close knit community that Burnside offers; along with compassionate educators and staff it just makes for a better experience. I have two boys who attend Burnside, and they have been completely reactivated since starting school there- by making more efficient choices about their behavior. They are not told how to act, merely show a different way of looking at situations and how they may be able to have more positive attitude about things in the future. I look forward to at least five more years with Dr. Richardson, thank u for being you and showing up like a Roman candle every single day-shooting your rays of Light across the student body... Believing for better, yearning for more, leaving them to just dream. Thank u.

Annie Burnside is an excellent school choice. We were new to the area and their staff were just as welcoming and professional as can "BEE!" I was amazed at their creative artwork throughout the school. It's truly an organized and drama free environment for the students. Their students seemed to be excited to be at school. My child was successful educationally and loved this school. As a parent, I was able to volunteer for a school dance and the staff kept the students in order and actually participated with the students which made it lots of fun, you should have seen the kids facial expressions!!! I sure hope someone from the schoolboard reads this and will give this school special recognition to their faculty and staff members for all their hard work because it truly shows!!!

This school is amazing! Just visit and see the time and consideration that the faculty puts into creating a beautiful, student friendly environment. Learning is the top priority and the teachers do not settle for anything less than the best. The students are learning to be leaders. They were even on the news for all of their school spirit. I love Burnside!

Our hiring process is rigid. Teachers have to have more than subject knowledge to work at our school, they must have passion and compassion. They must be driven to ensure that ALL students succeed. We have coaches and interventionists that support students and teachers.

We understand that time should be spent doing extracurricular activities, so we limit the time that it should take students to complete homework in the afternoons.

I am so happy that I decided to let my daughter attend Burnside Elementary! The staff is so helpful, knowledgable, and most of all friendly. From the time you walk in the door, to the time you leave the school the staff and teachers are friendly. This year they have put a new program in place, and my daughter comes home excited about school. The halls of this school make me excited, so I know that the children are happy about learning. I don't know how anyone could say anything bad about this school because the school is great, and they are moving in a great direction. Keep up the great work! My daughter is glad to be a Burnside Bee, and I am too!

The Leader in Me is a new initiative at the school. The students learn Stephen Covey's Five Havits of Highly Effective People.

Please explain to me why? My daughter's school doesn't have a national holiday off. I'm talking about Memorial Day! When my other children have it off. As well as all my niesce and nephews do. So now I have to explain to her why she has school and they don't. And watch her get upset because she feels left out. And I would appreciate it if the ladies who answer the phones. Weren't so rude and short. Especially since it is your job to do so.

I absolutely love my school and I am so grateful to be an employee there. I did read a negative review of my school, but my only response is for people to come to see what we ate about. On each and every hallway, there is creativity and beautiful bulletin boards. We have teachers here that care about these kids and all of them are not inner city. Some teachers, like myself, go even a step further to teach afterschool and make sure certain students are improving on their test scores. We also have an amazing principal who strives for excellence and taught me so much while working at Burnside. Unfortunately, I will be moving to Texas soon, but I will allow anyone to talk bad about my school that gave me an opportunity to blossom into a better educator. Thank you so much, Annie Burnside Elementary! I will take my experiences here everywhere I may go in life.

This school only received a 2 out of 10 rating. The population is inner city children who are street wise. Burnside is not a good fit for any child that is not from the inner city . There is a tremendous amount of disciple problems at this school. The tough inner city environment fosters and encounters disciple problems. The office staff is rude and even some of the teachers are not on board. Some teachers do indeed care, especially the lower grades but as the grades progress there is a great deal of apathy among the teachers. It would be very beneficial and to the best interest of the parent and child to explore other schools in the area, charter schools and private schools in the area, rather than to send your child to Burnside Elementary School.
