I think this High School is a good H.S. My child is a 9th grader and has had some great teachers so far that has answered all my questions and respond to emails very quickly. The only thing I didn't like was at first I wanted my child switched out of a class after the 2nd week of school and they told me they don't like switiching students out of the class they rather try to resolve any issues and all come together to work on the needs. I don't like that approach because that gets unnecessary people involved with something that is none of their business and sometimes it can cause teachers to act a certain way towards that student. I know this because I work at a school and I hear how other teachers gets when parents talk to admin about a teacher and student issue whether it is a small concern. I think if a parent wants their child to switch classes and it can be done then it should happen. The admin staff are really nice and again they answer emails and return phone calls quickly. Theres a lot offered at this school.

Worst school my child has ever attended

This school goes out of its way to involve all students. For example, if a child is seen sitting alone in the halls during lunch, I have seen administrators talk to students to learn more about them and get them more involved.

This school has excellent programs for all students. BioHealth Magnet, Scholars Academy Magnet for Business and Law and the School of Fine Arts are just a few great things about this school.

The school claimed that they would handle it but no disciplinary actions were taken. This is an ongoing problem at the school gang activity with the school not doing anything about it.

This school is infested with gangs which the school is well aware of but does nothing about!

My daughter is in her Senior year at this school. The most disappointing thing about this school is the administration. Every single year I have had to go back into the school and fight for schedule changes. I can understand that issues arise, but every year is unacceptable. I think they just give out diplomas because I know that students can not honestly get the required classes that they need. What school seriously allows a child to have four study halls on their schedule that they don't recieve credit for. Just be prepared to spend every year in guidance advocating for your child and their schedule.
