If you are white don't even bother sending your child here. The white kids are treated like garbage while other races are put on a pedestal. The principal does absolutely nothing about bullying. Says he will look into it and then you never hear from him again. My child was specifically told by another student that they can't be friends because she's white. This school is a joke and destroys white children's self esteem. Run far away from this school.

Horrible leadership if you have any issues, everything is shoved under the rug. Retaliation and discrimination, toxic work environment. I have nothing to say good about this school. On top of that, horrible teachers

Discrimination and bullying swept under the rug. Male leadership gaslights, retaliates, and antagonizes parents and student after complaints are made. Principal avoids meetings. Unprofessional teachers

last year i graduated from this elementery school. and heres what i have to say, probaly 1/3 percent chance that you will have silent lunch. they did not have a good teaching like they were speaking good info but just made no scine recess is not that fun. you will get made fun of. but the leadership academy in fun. but the school served you food worse then jail food. like i dont expexct 5 star meals but come on. unless you have alot of scholl clout and a techers pet. still dont realy recomend and go to Langford or CFK North.

The Principal and Vice principal only care about test scores and ironically under their leadership the scores continue to drop, the kids are constantly told to be quiet they can not speak during lunch and can barely speak during recess. The teachers are egotistical and support each other in fostering an environment where only the ideal drone lik children is wanted and praised, regardless of the cost it has on the children getting an actual education. From my meetings with leadership at this school it is apparent the behaviors come from the top down. It is frightening because children are a vulnerable population. My child complained of being bullied and instead of the front office and administrators being professional, they began to attempt to attack and bully me for not taking their word over my childs. Prepare your children for bullying and prepare your self to be the teacher.

I believe this school could do a little better with requirements from teachers regarding helping kids through loosing a textbook or homework and fix the problem.
Also ladies in the front with the short hair are very helpful the other brown skin curly hair lady, needs to find somewhere else to work, definitely not with adults. And if she work with young people, I could only imagine.
If a parent ask a question she gives a kinda of smart reply with no help on how to move forward.
For example, if I ask if the school does k5 kindergarten, the response should be yes or no. Her answer was all schools have k5! Its been 11 years since I had to register a child for K5.
How about give next steps instead of getting smart with the parents, I really was not sure bc my kid went to a private school for K5.
Otherwise, no other complaints.
Do better

The new Principal and Vice Principal are directing this school into the ground, alot of the younger techers are egotistical and self serving with little to no guidance from the leadership. My child struggled at this school, the teachers pnly allow the children to talk during 30 minute recess. How can children learn to engage and express themselves if they are told to be quiet the majority of the school day. The test scores that the new administrators care so deeply about is continuing to fall over time. I was told by a neighbor her child who graduated last year and was bullied for 2 years was trying to take matters into his own hands, she stated the administrators made excuses for the teachers not taking action, the bullying continued and one morning her son was putting a knife in his book bag to go to school, she said he felt he needed to protect himself, my friend stated that is when she had to transfer him to another school to protect him and the other children. This new school is cold and so is the principal and over half of the teachers in it.

We had to move cross-country this past summer, but our kids attended BHE for three years prior to our move. I can't tell you how much we miss this school. This school is so amazing and wonderful that it's worth moving into a home you're less than thrilled about, just so you can be zoned for this school. Seriously. The staff is caring, warm, and educated, from the principal to the cleaning crew. They cared for and taught our kids like they were their own. It's like one huge family. Our kids are smart and introverted, and they both thrived academically and personally at this school. BHE has everything going right.

We loved BHE . We had moved to this place from a different country and we were little skeptical about our daughter adjusting to the new environment, language, friends etc . But her class teacher was so friendly and caring that it was never different for her . I love the office staff too who always have a smiling face and are very communicative .We would have never thought of changing the school but we are moving to a different location . We will miss BHE!
