We decided to transfer our daughter out of the kindergarten Fish class after a difficult experience. At home she is loving and well-behaved, but at school we mostly received negative reports and little focus on her positives. Some discipline practices, like being told to get out of the carpet in front of classmates or sitting on an X repeatedly, felt public and shaming rather than supportive.
On a few occasions she asked adults for help when another child hurt her, but no one followed up. We also reached out to the counselor about a sensitive concern and felt the response lacked empathy.
In the end, instead of encouragement and patience, our daughter felt anxious and stressed. Five-year-olds deserve to feel safe, cared for, and supported. That was not our experience, which is why we moved her to another school.

The teachers are amazing , but the administration is horrible. Especially to students they dont like. All in all you'd be better sending your kid to a different elementary in the district, Its a good school district.

Today was a ruff day for us. Our son (Mason) has been going to this school since he was 3 years old. Mason has Autism and due to his needs for advancement, the school district has all agreed Cibolo Valley would have the tools to suit his needs at this time. This by no means is a discredit to Green Valley Elementary. They have done an exceptional job for our son. He has come so far and my wife and I know its because of this school. We will be forever be in their dept. The staff and Teachers nurtured him as their own, doing the best they could with the resources they had. It is a sad day, but the goal is to get him at a point in his abilities to come back here. We thank everyone at Green Valley for everything they did for Mason. We will be forever grateful and hope to come back real soon.
Sincerely,
Bill Matthews

Our kiddos have been through every grade at Green Valley. They have a great stance on homework. They keep it at a minimum and some grades send home packets that you can complete at your leisure over a weeks time.

No lie, you cannot go wrong with ANY of the teachers here! Super amazing ladies!

Again, this falls into the 7 pillars of the leader in me.

Green Valley is a Leader in Me school. They incorporate leadership traits into all aspects of learning. Giving students the lead in many activities throughout the school hours and after.

Yes yes yes!! I have a student with dyslexia. They have done amazing work with him! Hes still delayed in reading, but scores extremely high in all other areas. They have accommodated him in other studies for testing to ensure he still has a chance to have the opportunity to pass those tests knowing the material, despite the fact that he might not be able to read it.
I also had a little one that needed speech therapy. They assessed him, and he was then given 2 days a week, during non core learning times with the speech pathologist. He has since graduated from speech. Again, they did wonders for his self confidence!

10 out of 10! I couldnt be happier. Green Valley is more than a school, it's a community. Its family.

The homework seems typical for this grade level.

This school loves to harass students they don't like. We have had nothing but problems with this school. We are definitely looking at a private school as alternative to these so called "educators"

I LOVE this school! My daughter has been there for kinder, first and now second grade. Its the only school shes ever attended but its exceptional. The staff is friendly and the teachers are amazing! I wish my daughter could stay till 4th grade but due to being military will have to move soon. I'm very sad and don't know if I will find as great a school as this one. It will be hard to top!

Finds it absurd that the kids are allowed to watch a movie during lunch. How does this encourage healthy eating? I also wonder about how the teachers act in the classroom when I see obvious frustration in the hallway after school. My child loves school, so we will make it work. But if I ever heard my child spoken too, in that manner, I'd be homeschooling again. Positive reinforcement, not raising your voice...some of the teacher's I have witnessed need a lesson on class, and need to remember that schools are essentially a business and they act unprofessional at times.
