I taught at this school for 4 years. Its the worst place to work. The students are all thugs and the parents can care less. Social promotion is the norm. The district office is spineless.

I'm a student at Dekaney High School its not a great School. The students there are terrible not all of them but most of them. Most of the teachers don't even care about the students. Some of the teachers had quit because of the students or covid-19. It's so terrible because some of the students don't even bother to put their mask on even if it required. The bottom line is that I wouldn't recommend this school to any student.

Terrible experience, The curriculum not challenging enough, no beneficial educational resource, unprofessional staff, unqualified teachers, unorganized school, and chaotic school the students have more control then the administration.

This school doesnt allow teachers to give homework. I transferred from an out of state school and questioned why I received no homework and multiple teachers informed me that the school administration doesnt like for them to give homework.

Some teachers are great others are just there for a paycheck.

No respect is displayed from neither students or staff members.
Posted: October 19, 2019
Administration is disorganized and not all staff members are professional or know how to speak in a professional manner.

This school cant even properly educate students without learning differences.

Most counselors wont see students because there busy and no psychologist at this school. Im a junior and Ive met with my counselor less than 5 times my whole 3 years at this school. Counselors here only make schedules and they mess up at that every year. Messing up on almost all of the students schedules.

Dekaney High School is sad. There is simply no excuse for the activities going on at the campus. Administration does not care because they know they will not be investigated. They will not be investigated because Dekaney is a low-income school in a low-income neighborhood. Spring ISD will not be satisfied until a traumatic incident occurs at Dekaney or the school is shut down.

As a former student at Dekaney High School, I can personally attest to the lack of effectiveness the teachers at Dekaney have. It start with administration, they hire teachers who are unprofessional and unqualified to teach the subjects they've been hired to teach! The teachers don't even take the time to teach they pass out worksheets that can literally be found online with a few key strokes. It is very self evident that they do not care about the students or student success, they are driven solely by a paycheck. There are a few good teachers, maybe a handful who actually care. If you or your child has a chance to go to another school, any school don't come to Dekaney you will regret it.

The school cannot develop good characters traits within the students because they themselves lack integrity, compassion and respect.

Doesn't even Deserve a star. This school is horrible. The teachers do NOT teach whatsoever. The faculty is worried about being friends with the students then doing their job. More than half of the students have NO respect. The girls dress like they are going to a club and NOTHING is said or done. It's a school not a club. I feel bad for the students who actually want to learn and graduate!

As a current student in Andy Dekaney high school I cant begin to explain how many people judge by the first impression, or should I say first semester. I agree the school needs changes including teachers in order for the school to be run better. Although academically this school isn't the best. Some teachers do care , but its up to the students to make that decisions as well. This school also offers great sports opportunities and extra-curricular activities. I just personally think this school needs to change how things are being run.
