We are so blessed to have our kid in Kingwood Montessori School. During 5 years we have seen the passion for learning on him, every day he loves his school. The teachers are very professional in the montessori method, in the knowledge of the study areas and they take care of the children as integral human beings, focusing on their challenges and interests individually and as a group. We couldn't have chosen a better place for our son. Thanks KMS

Although homework is not the base of the Montessori school, sometimes students are given assignments that may be completed within the week.

All of them in the classroom have Montessori training for the children’s age levels.

The children usually are academically prepared to a higher grade level.

The director of the school has years of Montessori experience and was the upper elementary lead teacher years prior to taking on the director position.

We love Kingwood Montessori! It's our second year and my daughter has really excelled in reading and math. I love that she comes home doing yoga poses and is learning about being a peaceful, kind person. The teachers and staff are great and feel like family. So glad we found this school.

No experience with bullying so far. But any disagreements seem to be resolved as far as I know.

Montessori leans itself to accomodating kids with all sorts of levels of learning.

The inclusion of things like yoga, music and peace class are great!

They've been great at everything from getting her to begin reading to practical things like working with her on tying her shoes.

While they will send home some readers/sight words on occasion, there is generally no homework in our class.

The class sizes are small and every room has at LEAST 2 teachers. They know each kid and what is going on. I've personally seen conflict being handled in 3 different grade levels and was impressed by it in all 3 cases. In the preschoolers they have them each a place to calm down first and then sat with them and helped them talk about why feelings got hurt. In the older kids it was higher level (There is always another emotion hiding under anger...) . I've been so impressed.

I love that each kid is learning at their own pace and through work that motivates their learning style and personality.

This school is amazing at building character. I would say its one of their strong points. Kids have peace education, they talk about feelings and compassion and respect. They have meditation and yoga class and I hear my kids putting the calming methods and other peace practices into action at home.

I LOVE that there is rarely homework for elementary students. Kids need time to be kids.

I have 3 kids in Kingwood Montessori ranging from 18 months to 6 years old. We tried several places with my oldest before we landed here on the recommendation of a friend. The staff and teachers love our kids fiercely and they have all blossomed socially and academically here. The youngest is a very very cautious child and very Mom-focused and I was so nervous about starting him. They were wonderful about letting him visit the environment many times before we began and the toddler teacher even took a picture with him on his first visit for us to hang on the fridge and talk to him about while he was preparing to start. You can sit in the director's office any time and watch the live video of what your kid(s) are up to.

I love so much about this school. I love the level of respect that each child is shown. No one talks down to them, not even the toddlers. I love the focus on peace education and tolerance and self-awareness. I love that through meditation and yoga, they have given my toddlers and pre-schoolers a new tool-kit for calm. I love that they are challenged and loved and that they know they are loved. I love that on a regular basis I learn about something my child did or is going to work on and I think, "Whoa. He can do that already?!". I love that through parent education forums, they challenge us to continue to grow and improve as parents.

I could not be more happy to be a part of this school family.

We have been part of the Kingwood Montessori family for many years now. Our daughter just loves her class, her teachers and her surroundings so very much. She is thriving before our eyes in the most wonderful way. The level of education, guidance and care that Kingwood Montessori provides for the students is incredible and I wholeheartedly suggest to all my family and friends they tour this school and consider it for their children. I will always be thankful to have found this school/community.

We had a bad experience at Kingwood Montessori. The teacher was terribly rude and inconsiderate with our two-year-old son. On the fourth day of school, our son took along a burp cloth with which he is very attached and soothes him when he sleeps. The teacher snatched away this cloth from him and refused to hug or hold him when he put his arms forward. She told us her intention to do so was to teach him independence. This was a harsh way to teach independence to an innocent two-year-old during his first week of school. She could have informed me not to send his cloth to school. Our son also had a bad diaper rash, suggesting that the soiled diaper was not changed soon enough. The saddest part was seeing him upset and disturbed after he came back from school. Lastly, we never got any updates on his activities and behavior. The director was very kind in her response and understood the situation well. However, it is the teacher who would be interacting with him daily. We lost our confidence in the teacher's ability to take good care of our son and therefore, withdrew him from the school. A good teacher loves children and intends on caring for them with their heart. This was missing at Kingwood Montessori.
