If I could give it less then one star I would. This school is NOT an exemplary school I'm sorry. There is so much I could write about this school, but it won't right all the wrong that is happening in this school. My daughter had a horrible 3 years here she was constantly being bullied and no one did anything. I was told by lunch lady she witnessed it and teacher did nothing about it. I am homeschooling her now and she's thriving and learning so much more. I make plans with other parents and their kids for her socialization, take educational yet fun field trips as well. She's doing great! I suggest to all parents to keep communication with your kids and teachers open. Kids sometimes are afraid to speak up because teachers are intimidating and if you are reading your kids right , they are taught to respect teachers and do as they say. Go sit in during school to see how these teachers are with your kids. Grill these teachers especially if your kids are having problems. Teachers now a days are all about the paycheck.

My child has both dyslexia and autism, and this school neglected her Educational needs and emotional support to the point that she suffered for three years and failed but they kept passing her without any help. The neglect happened directly in the classroom, the teacher told her and other students that they were not aloud to use the bathroom and the assistant principal failed to take any action this resulted in my child and other children to pee themselves in this classroom several times a week. The teachers also disipline your children and call you and tell you AFTER the fact. Things kept getting worse. I ultimately had to file a complaint with the education system outside the school, and I made the decision to withdraw both of my children from this school.

My student has been at Ross for a few years and it has been a great experience. He receives special education services and is in a general education setting. The principal, vice principal, school nurse, and staff have ALWAYS made my son feel included. I can call any time I have a concern. I can trust them with medical needs as well as educational and emotional support. Mrs. Hightower was our first introduction to the school and she is hands down not only an incredible human but a phenomenal teacher. If you see the negative reviews from years ago, don't let that discourage you. The current team at Ross is who you want supporting your kiddo.

James H Ross Elementary has a staff who are easy to communicate with and always willing to help with parents concerns. The teachers go above and beyond to educate their students according to each students needs. My son's PPCD teacher met me during Christmas break at the school to retrieve his blanket left in the classroom. The Principal was more than happy to assist as well. Also, I noticed a teacher will small couches in her classroom. Her Dad made these for her class to give the students great comfort while reading in the classroom. This teacher loves reading and it shows. Her students are always excited to visit the library and read. Its obvious they really care for their students. Sincerely, Bridgete Rivera

This school is outstanding, from the principal down to the custodians. My daughter has attended for 2 yrs now and our second child will attend next year. I love how they include parents in everyting they do and keep us up to speed on our child's progress. I think anyone who complains about the teaching at Ross might need to spend more time with their own children and help them, instead of complain...everything starts at home.

This year my husband and I a "parenting" two of our grandchildren who's mom is undergoing economical hardships (the economy). The office staff at Ross Elementary has been "Exemplary" in our opinion. The assistance we received was above and beyond to insure that our grandson, Elijah would be placed. My grandchildren are new to the district so this transition is a difficult one, but I have had nothing but good encounters beginning with the office staff (Ms. Brenda), to the teachers, and the coaches. There are always challenges in any school setting. I have been impressed with this school district from start to enrollment. I applaud the professionalism and compassion that was extended to me. I feel confident that if I have problems I can get my issues addressed.

Very unfriendly enviroment. My children's first year in this school was very hostile and unwelcoming. Very stressful for the children who do not belong to the clique.
