Our child has become much less cheerful here. On top of that, our teen constantly complained to us about how easily available drugs are inside the school. Our complaint to the principal regarding these issues did not help at all, so a formal complaint has been sent directly to the Conroe ISD administration. Completely unhappy with the school. Completely.

My daughter goes to this school, and she is two years ahead in math. Instead of letting her be two years ahead, she took AP Statistics Sophomore year instead of taking pre-calc. This means she is on the same level as kids who are one year ahead in the same grade! Its stupid how this school holds smarter students back for the sake of being equal. Make this school have more advanced math classes!

This has to be the most god awful school when it comes to protecting students. Their JROTC program is trash, their principal lacks a backbone and wont even try to follow district rules even when presented with them. Our daughter was chastised by the students after their homecoming dance and videos posted online were allowed to be distributed through the school and viewed over 63,000 times with no repercussions to any student involved. Even after confronting them about it they claimed they cant prove its the student, even though I did the homework to back trace every tik tok to the creator (which were indeed the students). The JROTC program is run by the students who lack discipline and are not welcoming to any new coming students. We removed her from CISD completely and now reside in a school that actually teaches criteria and focuses on students but also has an active principal with morals and standards. Do yourself a favor and dont enroll your child at this school, save their mental anguish if they are different in any way! Side note the nurses there are quite possibly the most genuine individuals there.

Do not send your child to this school. The staff alone is unprofessional and do not care about your child. They get large donations and try to keep things hush hush even within the school only catering to individuals with connections. Many fights all the time. Kids having sex in bathrooms, drug problems and kids overdosing and bullying from staff and students. They do not care about the well being of your children they are just a number and most staff just care about a paycheck. The kids who may experience something decent here are on the elite teams ( cheerleader, high stepping, sports ). Their parents know staff and staff treat them better and are more lenient because they improve the school imagine.

My two children have had wonderful experiences at TWHS. Their teachers gave not only taught well but have also cared about my kids. In my interactions with teachers, administrators, and staff when working/volunteering at the school, I have always had positive experiences. I cant imagine sending my children anywhere else. They were more than prepared for life after high school.

We have had a really good experience with this school, and our child has thrived here. Your experience will depend on how much effort you and your child put into understanding the system, teaching your child to advocate for themselves, and knowing how to focus on what your child ultimately wants to get out of the educational experience. The school is indeed large, which poses certain challenges. However, our child has thrived and had some very wonderful teachers; in particular, Conroe ISD has made significant investments in the fine arts programs, which our child has really benefited from. The school provides extensive orientation at the beginning, but It is important to do some research to understand how to plan courses, and it is important for your child to get involved in some activities that will provide the basis of a good peer group (our child was in orchestra and choir and met some great kids there). There are some very good teachers here, and they take notice when students put in honest effort and show interest. With some coaching, our child has learned to advocate for herself, to communicate with peers and teachers, and to be increasingly autonomous. We believe she will be well-prepared for college, but we had to do our part to partner with the school.

They wre more worried about being payed than caring for their students. They have no worries about why your work was late and have no problem taking off 10% everyday your work is late including days you don't have them as well as weekends.
Posted: September 16, 2020
Once again as stated before the teachers do not care why your work is late. They use their personal life to justify why you work should be able to be turned in on time.

This school was the worst. I graduated from there about 15 years ago and when it was time to look at schools for my kids, I made sure we stayed far away from the woodlands. I felt like when I left high school I entered into a world which I was not prepared for. TWHS is a sheltered bubble and I'd be ashamed if my daughter went there. I don't ever tell people I lived or went to high school in the woodlands. It's not a place I'm proud of... and I was the top of my class... president of clubs... on sports teams... I enjoyed it while I was in school. It's what happened afterwards (ie: knowing nothing about the real world. BTW I'm extremely liberal now. Was not that way in high school. Didn't even know that was an option!) that made me truly realize how awful my high school experience was.

Let me just start out by saying, for all of the people who gave this school a bad rating, you are WRONG. This school is undeniably the best school in Texas, if not one of the top schools in the country.
1. Education/College Prep - This school is the BEST in the state of Texas for college prep and education. There is a reason TWHS has such a high quality education. The teachers genuinely care for EACH and EVERY single student in the student body. Regardless, of if the student is in the teachers class. I would be walking through the hallways, and on ANY given day, 99.9999% of the teachers would greet me or ask how I was doing. There is a reason the courses are so rigorous. It is because the school is trying to prepare each and every student for college. No other school in Texas does it better than TWHS.
2. Everyone has a family in TWHS, wether your in football, golf , baseball, swimming, debate.... it doesn't matter. You have a group of people that care for you.
3. Being in The Woodlands band program has CHANGED MY LIFE. The directors care so much about the students and really want the students to succeed in life. The same goes for any other club/extra-curricular activity.
BTW, the band program is nationally recognized, winning numerous competitions. Including, being crowned the Bands of America Grand National Champions in 2013.
If you didn't read the ratings, you should do that. The ratings speak for themselves.
The classes may be hard, the homework load may be a lot. But at the end of senior year, walking across the stage is SO WORTH IT. I am SO PROUD TO BE A HIGHLANDER!!!!

The 9th grade campus is uncontrolled, disorderly, and full of bullies. I was about to explode with anger today because of my last class. We had a substitute teacher because our teacher was "visiting her son" or something. Is that even an excuse to leave? And my classmates were out of control, cussing at other kids and drawing on our teacher's pictures on the wall. The substitute didn't even know about this. There was a partially-autistic kid who got angry at this troublemaker (they already hate each other) and called him a vulgar name. One girl got called a lesbian and the other teens laughed at her, but she was saying she wasn't lesbian. Later on, she called another person gay and I said, "That's offensive to gay people." because they were laughing at someone if they were called gay in a sexual orientation way. There is a sign on the boards of the classrooms that says people cannot make fun of someone due to their sexual orientation, race, gender, religion, etc., yet people are doing this. And they should have cameras in the classrooms because it was chaotic in that last class. I was made fun of due to my heredity of a foreign country I was from and called a Communist.

i recently attended a jv football game 09/12/2013 at your facility i was shocked at the handicapped parking, and the distance from parking to seating. as my husband is disabled we wont be attending any other functions at this facility. also there were no lights in either womens or mens restrooms. these issues need to be addressed

The most recent poster has my school nailed on how bad it is here. I come from a great family, moderate income level, have a pretty awesome car, and came in new at the start of my jr yr... The counselors told me this... If you don't sign up for extracurricular activities, ie clubs, sports (good luck!), band, then you will have a difficult time at the school. So I signed up for lots of clubs since I didn't qualify for their stellar basketball, football, baseball, or tennis club. So I go to the club meetings and since I don't already know anybody there, I'm SHUNNED!! So I do this in about 4 meetings, looking forward to meeting at least one new friend and I am so depressed that I have to deal with eating by myself and not one person will come and sit by me. I will look up and smile and they go sit somewhere else... I hate this place now. My parents told me it was going to be a great school, but btwn the teachers and their lack of abilities to teach, and the administration's difficulty with handling the chaos of unhappy kids there, there is no way someone like me, a good looking, nice, good kid can be happy here. All of the SERIOUS $ in this town and nothing to show 4 it. I'm :'(.

I have lived in New England, Atlanta, The Midwest, Central States, and now Houston. This is absolutely the WORST school to acclimate your child to. Unless you are filthy rich, a jock, cheerleader, or highly popular, your new student IS NOT WELCOME HERE by others. The "clicks" are everywhere, and forget joining clubs to get to know kids - the clicks are already there too. The size is absolutely outrageous and unless your child already comes from a large school (3000+ kids), I highly suggest looking elsewhere. My neighbors have lived all over the world in many cases, and they also said this was the worst school ever to get their kids to feel included and meet others. The school throws the clubs at kids and expects them to just "go get it!" If you are are a down-to-earth person and your kids have any kind of heart, move somewhere else! THIS PLACE IS NOT, I REPEAT, NOT FOR YOU! We are now homeschooling, and relieved to be doing so.

I really like this high school... It's just amazing. I really like th teachers. And if you're in band and you're moving to the woodlands, this school has probably the best band ever. I'm in this band and I actually enjoy this band. It's fun and chill. This year, the band got 1st place in BOA Regionals which is a marching band competition and this year also we were the UIL Area F champion....AGAIN! So what do you think? Isn't this remarkable? Oh and the wind ensamble will perform in midwest clinic which is an international music convention (bands and orchestras). This is actually the second time TWHS band perform for midwest... So if you're in band and just recently moved to the woodlands, please consider these amazing achievements that this high school has made
