Candy but no recess, bullying with physical violence with little to no reprisal, crazy disorganization with incorrect school supplies lists, a longer school day but with little to no extracurriculars, no study hall, overworked and underpaid teaching staff, no field trips, insane militant rules.... who could learn in an environment like this?? The only saving grace is orchestra. We are transferring out ASAP.

This campus is amazing from top to bottom. The community they have with the students is something l've never seen. The amount of work and dedication the staff puts into the children makes the community special. My kids have thrived at the campus, I have three of them. I have taught in the district, but nothing holds a candle to the team that Josh Hughes is leading.
He knows every child and establishes relationships with them. He is present and communicates with the community weekly. Well done, Wilkerson. We are eternally grateful.

I have had three children pass through Wilkerson Intermediate School. Now that I do not have a student there, I have been reflecting on their experiences and how they are doing now because of their time at Wilkerson. The boys were there a few years ago and it was great, but I believe the school is even better now that Mr. Hughes is there. He is kind and connects with every student. My daughter felt cared for by both teachers and staff. The counselors are extremely helpful and responsive to the students. My kids made many friends and have such fond memories. We miss Wilkerson and my children are lucky to have experienced this school.

Wilkerson Intermediate is a phenomenal school for students and their families. It is unfortunate that the Great Schools' ratings just accumulate over the years because past reviews do not provide an accurate picture of Wilkerson Intermediate today (2023-2023). Mr. Hughes and his amazing team of teachers and staff bring their best every day to make sure that each student feels respected, supported and valued. They provide an excellent, organized learning environment that challenges students without overwhelming them while also showing both kindness and compassion. They are quick to respond to any concerns that arise and go above and beyond when it comes to communication with parents. I am so thankful my child has the opportunity to attend a school that is striving for success while also putting students first.

Had three girls go through Wilkerson and all had good experiences with teachers who invested in them and built positive relationships. I know many say their job is to teach and they did that tooÂ…but relationships are everything and this staff knows how to reach a bunch of 11 and 12 year olds!! My kids were well prepared for moving to Jr. High when they left.

This school was absolutely horrible. The only few things that didn't want me to ditch school every single day was that I obviously don't want to fail and the teachers. The very few teachers that I "liked" made me feel ok about this school. The staff was disrespectful, rude, not patience, and not very understanding. The staff does not include most teachers, however, it does include those random people who just walk around the school that look for girls with "inappropriate" clothing. Also there are many other horrid things about this school. (I was a previous student)

Unfortunately, despite the Principal's positive approach and attitude, our experience with this school wasn't great. In her defense, she may not have a lot of control over staffing choices.

Very little homework was given, and in one class, instruction on the assignment was very vague. My child received the same material they had already learned in 5th grade, in the GT math module.

Of the four regular teachers my child had last year, one (Mrs. Blaha - band) was truly exceptional. Unfortunately, she appears to be an outlier. The homeroom teacher was good, the new teacher appears to have quickly given up hope and didn't engage much / reportedly spent a lot of time on her personal phone, and the seasoned teacher was usually ill tempered and probably should have retired years ago. I almost called when she made the students sit with their backpacks in their laps the first day - so she wouldn't trip over them, but decided to wait things out. They just never got much better.

The Principal seems to be engaged, and positive. The Vice Principal tried to convince me not to place my child in advanced academics because "it didn't really matter" at that age. I later determined the classes were quite full, which was the catalyst for that conversation. I was told my child did not qualify and had to send my child's records to the CISD GT coordinator to have the coordinator reach out to the VP. The VP claimed she had not seen a particular test score, which I found fascinating as all of them were provided in a .pdf format. She did not return my email, or any calls, until the coordinator engaged to assist me.

Special needs students who were incorporated into the GT program were often disruptive. Students who sat next to them were frequently instructed to handle the behavior.

They have implemented a limit of 1 hour of homework each night. This allows the students to have less stressful evenings.

We are currently attending the school. We moved here from another state and we love the school. The principal and teachers are awesome. Our experience has been a positive one. Ms Daw and the staff truly care about the students and their success. They have worked with us to have the best experience with our child.

My daughter is currently going to Wilkerson right now , she is telling me that there are some advantages and disadvantages at this school . The advanced/ GT classes aren't very challenging and that is disappoint cause I would love it if students would be taught to have higher expectations, and it seems like most teachers care about behavior more than grades which isn't bad at all but instead of learning they are given a ten minute lecture about not talking in the hallway rather than teaching them their subject . Some students have a lower income so it's also harder to have them catch up with the group. And honestly the teachers never help the students prepare for tests very well. Overall my daughter loves the clubs and activities and most of the teachers are great !

Terrible school. There is not leadership. The school is on its third principal in three years. Dont go here

Great school, very pleased with teachers' care and commitment to our childrens' needs and learning goals. Best anti-bullying program in the area that makes some uneducated low class bullies fear and complain, which is ok. Tough, we will not be putting up with unruly behaviour in The Woodlands. We care for our childrens' normal phychological and emotional development, the great knowledge they get from the advanced curriculum and preparedness for the future.

My daughter is in the GT program at Wilkerson and has gone through 2 years being completely unchallenged. Teachers do not discipline unruly kids and the counselor says she will step in and then does nothing. The principal is rarely seen and must hide in her office. I can't even remember her name after 2 years here. Pick another school if you have the choice!

While my son had a great 5 years at Glen Loch we were terrified of him going to Wilkerson. We heard very bad things about the school. We attended school meetings for several years before he went to Wilkerson and disscussed our concern with the Principle of Wilkerson, teachers and other parents. All our worry was for nothing. The school has turned out to be a great experience.

We had a great experience at the elementary level, but when my son entered this school, I was horrified. If felt more like a county jail than a school. Five police cars out front, policemen patrolling the campus, and unhappy faculty. I pulled my son out of this school. This is sadly the worst school the Woodlands has.

In light of all of the "anti-bullying" craze that has swept our nation, Wilkerson Intermediate School has taken the school district's anti-bullying policy to the extreme. Children aren't allowed to be children any longer in this school without being disciplined. My son who attends Wilkerson no longer enjoys going to school, which is a shame because he is an excellent student. I am very disappointed in the Principal and Vice Principal leadership at this school. Many of the teachers choose to not make decisions and handle situations themselves and just give children referrals to the principal's office.

Unfortunately, after a wonderful elementary school experience, Wilkerson has been a disappointment. Children are placed in blocks, and the core subjects are science, social studies/ language arts, and math. My child has a very dedicated and organized math teacher, but we are not as equally impressed with the other teachers. The kids do note have text books or e-books. They rely on teacher notes and work sheets. We find it difficult to supplement learning at home with little resources or even prepare for tests which have differed from work sheets being sent home. We initially thought the absence of student lockers would be fine. However, the kids have to haul their binders and all their notebooks home every day. This can get heavy with jackets, lunch boxes and water bottles. Lastly, my child no longer enjoys school. This could be due to age, but last year our child could not wait to go to school. Overall, it has not been a positive experience.
