My son attended Good kids edu care for two days (august 29 and 30) before we found out their horrendous way of handling developmentally delayed toddlers. It has taken me a while to write this review as I was waiting for our report with the daycare licensing department of the health and human services to go through and be reviewed, and it just was. The review found that good kids edu care violated the rules and laws set in place for daycares in Texas.
While In the care of this daycare my developmentally delayed two year old was strapped to a highchair while he was crying by THREE WORKERS on SEVERAL occasions and left there for several minutes at a time. This is not okay, its included in the list of prohibited punishments for daycares.
I was NEVER called or informed of ANYTHING even being wrong until the end of the second day when they told me they had done this. No contact from the daycare from any of the times they physically restrained my emotionally distraught toddler even after I told them several times I would be home and waiting by the phone if they needed me as this was his first time even in a daycare.
The workers of this daycare should be sick with themselves but more importantly the owner whos pathetic excuse for this treatment of my child was that they needed three people to strap him down because one of the workers is too skinny and that my two year old was a danger to himself and others but Im wondering if my toddler posed such a large safety issue why was I never ONCE called?
This was my sons first ever time in daycare, they knew this.
My son has developmental delays and sometimes requires extra attention, they knew this.
How could they possibly think this was okay to do? My son STILL is traumatized and will not let us strap him in his booster seat.
Dont be fooled by the cute decor like I was, this place doesnt care about your kids, only the money they will make off them.

My son has been there for a year. The teachers and owner have been amazing. My son was born with medical issues and the teachers do all of my crazy request without complaint. They treat my little boy with all the love and attention they can give.

My kids have been at Good Kids since they were infants. The staff is extremely caring, and they have very low turnover. It is small enough that all of the teachers know all of the kids, and vise versa. The owner is firm and by-the-book, which I appreciate. On first glance, the building and playground may seem run-down and dated, but it is safe and has a large indoor play area that the kids adore. It isn't fancy, but the kids are safe and happy, and it is one of the least expensive day cares I have found. My one beef is with the meals, which aren't very healthy IMO (fish sticks, mac and cheese, etc), but you are welcome to bring your own food.
