I have three children that attend this school and the home work that is sent home has nothing to do with what they should be studying. Students go from doing no cursive one year to being expected to write in cursive the next year teachers don't follow iep's and are more worried if a 9 year old has a shirt that covers their butts or not, when homework does come home it is all over the place going from addition to Division then to large number fractions, decimals, and percents.

This school is so incredibly hands on. The teachers truly care about their students and put in the time and effort into them. I truly believe that all three of my children are thriving at Taylor Creek. We also had a seemless process getting our daughter’s 504 plan into place. It has just truly been such a positive experience for us as parents and our kids as students.

The school teachers/staff always go above and beyond for their students. They work hard to help our children learn. My kids love going here where the teachers are friendly and always smiling. Such a great school!

As at any school, there are some great teachers and some that are lackluster. This year we have 3 out of 4 teachers who are fantastic, and one who is good but we have had difficulties with. My children are learning and improving overall, and seem to enjoy their teachers very much.

Again, the counselor is working very hard to develop and implement schoolwide programs that support these efforts. The admins seem to be on top of this and it appears to be a priority at the school.

The counselor is excellent, and the interactions I've have with the assistant principal have gone well. They are very communicative with parents and try to create a school community. They are always outside and in the halls welcoming students.

Although I feel some of the teachers, and especially the counselor, seek to support this, that the school district does NOT. We have a high functioning autistic son and have had a terrible time with the district and getting proper programs and support in place. It was not the school who was denying it, I want that to be clear, but the special education employees at the district level. I feel this is just part of a larger problem the state of Texas has with denying services to special needs children and that they are not in compliance with federal IDEA law.

All the bullying incidents we have encountered were effectively dealt with immediately and it was stopped. I was very glad to see how important this issue was to the teachers and school administrators.

It is immensely better than our previous experience at another Texas school district, but overall Lampasas ISD needs to improve its special education system as well as how they interact with parents and families. We have had a mostly positive experience. I wish that students with multiple teachers for core subjects would be able to have both teachers present at parent conferences rather than just their homeroom teacher. The attendance lady is grouchy and rude, so beware.

The homework is minimal and there is a policy where if a student fails an assignment it is sent home and allowed to be corrected up to a passing score.

This school is simply wonderful. I have three children who attend school here, and they all cannot wait to go every morning. The teachers are great, and seem to learn the names of many students who are not even in their class. The principal, Kelly Dunn, also knows most of the students, not just the trouble makers! The staff in the main office is very friendly and helpful, the nurse is compassionate and kind, and the lunch ladies treat the students like grandchildren or nieces and nephews. Even the librarian goes out of the way to engage the children. I feel safe leaving my kids here since all doors are locked, and you must enter through the main office with an ID to visit. In the event of a gunman or any other situation that would put the children in danger, I feel that the staff would do a good job of protecting them and keeping them as safe as possible. It really is a great school, full of wonderful people that give it the feel of a small community.
