Love this school!!!!! Love the 4 day school week and so does my child! This is my 2nd child here and they have both loved the school and the teachers they have had. We have had to have meetings with teachers and they were very understanding and the situation improved greatly afterwards. We got an email that teachers are getting raises which is great that they will reward these teachers for their attentiveness to our children and show gratitude for them in their very important jobs and to continue to attract great teachers to La Vernia. Im not a teacher and never have been but I know that the Fridays are used for teachers to catch up with all the extra things they have to do that is not instructional. Im glad they have it off and will be one of the many reasons we stay in La Vernia!

My kids have been going to LVISD this is second year now since they started the 4 day 725 am for the Primary, intermediate. The Administration is a joke & guess what starting in 2025-2026 the start time for Primary and intermediate is now 720 just so they dont have to do bad weather make up days messed up right. There is more, so while teachers get a paid day off parents have to pay for the YMCA for fridays & if im not mistaken its 88 dollars a week at the school while teachers get that paid off so they dont have to give them raises. There are sone teachers that are great & should get one. The expense comes from the parents pocket not theirs. I have had a sit down with the superintendent, cheif of curriculum & at the time director of special education which went no where. More about the teachers than students. They give out surveys after each year which does nothing. Now they will start taking your students tardies and make them into absences if they are 11min late because they are having a hard time adjusting to this ridiculous morning time according to the document sent to me by the cheif of curriculum. If you give it a try here understand what your getting into, the little are the ones suffering.

GREAT! GREAT! GREAT! Love this school. The teachers are outstanding. The staff is amazing. The kids are phenomenal! My child has excelled and has learned to LOVE reading. This school doesn't focus on computers to do the work for the kids. They stick to the fundamentals and it is refreshing. Class sizes are small and the kids seem so engaged with their learning and their assignments. Thank you La Vernia teachers! The only think lacking in this school are the parents. Too many of the parents are more into their "clicks" and themselves than they are their kids.
